I'm scratching my head as well. His display is a 75" x900H. Which isn't a terrible display by any stretch.

Honestly, with people coming back saying how bright the UHD is, and the caps. I think he put the HD Blu-ray in by mistake.

Decent enough TV, of which we have no idea of how it's set up or what his viewing environment is. Prolly watches UHDs with the curtains open and sunlight blaring in because "that's what normal people do".

This exact thought had crossed my mind as the UHD is better in every way, and my experience was exactly the opposite as his. Quite curious how he arrived at the conclusions he did if he received a production disc just the same as the rest of us.

As I think we previously discussed. But I'd like to give the devil some dues, in that he's watching in at least a slightly darkened environment.

Well at least we are all learning more about upscaling as a result of yet another disastrous video of his.

If someone could supply us with the best email to get Universal to look into FAH having a partnership with them. I'd be most grateful, as I'm sure others would be.

Ooof.... not sure this is the best 4K upgrade for a kick ass flick.... The encode is riddled with these jaggy edges throughout, one big example is the car in this shot:

Hey he reviews for the average Joe collector! They don’t calibrate their system! They don’t even really pay attention to watching! So he reviews in the same way!

Just went to that scene and did a 300% live zoom on my LG OLED, those jaggies are almost non-existent in motion, must be an issue with the cap itself. I implore you to watch this disc in person, in motion before dismissing it. It really is a great transfer.

Consider me unimpressed by the caps.

Having said that, and funny enough, there's also strong aliasing on the BD that's almost gone now: https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?a=2&x...9&l=1&i=5&go=1

Can't remember me seeing that nor there being complaints, so I'm sure I will survive the aliasing of the 4K. The first cap made me cringe though (not for the aliasing).

And why did they basically swap the colour of the sky with #2?

Yeah, man don't know... this seems like a rushed 4K release... I mean this too looks bad:

His shirt and belt look kinda compressed low res and the jaggies again all over the house roof.

Still with the fu#kin god damn caps converted to SDR. Riddle me this. Why does all people having seen it say it's not with issues and you view this crap and take it as proof? Again. And again. And again disproven as proof.

I have some free time this morning, so I put on a few scenes to test the disc out.

The disc is an upgrade over the 2009 Blu-ray. Is it reference quality material? No. However - out of all the catalog Universal UHDs that were sourced from 2K DIs, this is one of the better releases.

If you’re a fan of the film, pull the trigger.

Third. The beginning scene was very bright and the sky looked overblown to me. It reminded me of The Meg.

I just don't get how someone can say this is dark.

You don’t happen to run a YouTube channel rhyming with BilmsAtRome, do you? All jokes aside, while you’re entitled to an opinion without having seen the disc, I have seen the disc and it is far from as troublesome as some have made it out to be. Call me a happy camper with a solid release of my favorite Tarantino film. Now we just need some more of his other films on 4K.

Funny and agreed you're entitled to your opinions as well mate, but honestly this title deserved a little more time and effort, in like upgrading from the actual film elements, instead of the 2009 blu-ray release.

It was a rushed release.
