I won't. Got enough problems in this thread already.

With the delay to the UK tat editions anyway I've ordered the US version.
What are you talking about? They downloaded German BDremux from torrents and reapplied yellow subs. They couldn't even place them in the same place as US BD. Rushed job.

Oh, then that’s definitely a mistake on my part.

It's not your mistake, it's Bill Hunt's. It still amazes me that he'll drool over a 2K upscale like LOTR when he thinks it's been rebuilt from 4K. The human mind is a wondrous and terrifying thing.

Yeah, from his review:

"But here’s the thing: I’ve been reviewing Blu-ray and DVD quality professionally now for twenty-three years on The Digital Bits, and 4K Ultra HD quality for the last four of those years. And I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 4K remaster that made quite this much of a difference over a previous Blu-ray release before."

Utterly ridiculous.

I just have this feeling he knows it's not, now at least anyway, but will just double down to not appear foolish or have that lack of Insider knowledge and info.

Of the movies released in 2000s with 4K BD, which one has 4K DI and which one was a new scan/rebuilt?

These are what I know.
4K DI:
Angels and Demons
Hancock
Pineapple Express

New scan/rebuilt:
Hellboy
Indiana Jones 4
Oldboy
V for Vendetta

Photochemical Finish:
All Christopher Nolan movies (Interpositive)

I saw no issues with this release. Would it be nice if it wasn’t an upscale? Sure, but it’s still a nice upgrade over the BD.

Maybe he lurks and read where we mentioned turning the lights off to replicate mastering conditions.

Which is pretty much the crux of the argument over the last five years w/ref to upscales, yesh. People don't want "nice" upgrades, they want to have their tits stunned off every single time and get what the cover promises them.

I'm still baffled that 4K UHD has made it this far with the Legion of Idiots spouting their nonsense.
