Why you don't see the artefacts even at 92" is as much to do with the 1080p downconversion as anything IMO, you're losing 75% of the resolution of the 2160p and that's likely obfuscating the artefacts. I've done the same thing before when tearing my hair out trying to tone down the dreadful chroma noise in the UHD of Brade Runnah; busting it down to 1080p helped.
I'm not seeing any artifacts on my 135" screen either and I'm not downconverting.

Nice! Boy, I'm glad I didn't cancel my order and order the set elsewhere. The poster set is getting $100+ on eBay. I won't be selling mine though. Their getting framed and hung up on my wall

Not sure I follow. Are you saying you hate the movie or the title of the movie?

No.. the jingle, subject matter and the cynical use of the HALLOWEEN brand is enough for me.

... and yes I know of their "original " series intentions but by the time 3 rolled around the train had left the station. This is Michael's and Laurie's story by the time the second installment bowed. Slapping the part 3 moniker on this turd was a recognition that it was not a good movie that could stand on it's own. If SEASON OF THE WITCH is not named HALLOWEEN 3, NOBODY is talking about it in 2021..

Halloween III is an absolute masterpiece, I love all the satire in it, especially about consumerism, I love how they almost parody the use of the Halloween movie franchise (gold Jerry, gold!). Tom Atkins is an excellent lead as the womanizing doctor, and it's quite a journey to see him devolve into madness as the movie unfolds. Dan O'Herlihy is one of the best villains I've ever seen, he's chilling, his performance is just outstanding. Most of all I love the ending, I think it's as good as the ending to The Thing, even. But I can also see how someone might flat-out hate the movie, though that doesn't change my high opinion of it, not one iota.

That is just not true, John Carpenter would still be involved, Dean Cundey etc. If people are still talking about Masters of Horror in 2021 (hey, I am) because Carpenter did two episodes, they would be talking about Killer Halloween Robots from Outer Space, too.

The mono track sounds just fine here. I did turn it up just a wee bit, but I thought it sounded nice.

My copy is "backordered" from Target - I actually received an email from them to "approve" the new arrival date "Oct 13 - Oct 29" ..my copy of Halloween II arrived this week. So I guess worst case I'll have to watch the Lionsgate UHD again this year.

You literally pointed out some of the top reasons people like this film and why it is actually still talked about today.

well I don't have 227
but I think I'll be ok till the 45th & 50th Anniversary release's

I did have '99 US THX Disc for a while, but ended up selling it for UK release
not as impressive packaging on UK and it never got Ltd number or any THX logo's on packaging,
but it's same disc's and it has THX logo/intro before film

I am having issues syncing the LD audio to the new 4k. No matter what I do, it will end up desyncing. Any tips?

What frame rate did you capture the LD audio at? That will affect whether the sync holds or drifts. It's also possible that there might be some small frame differences between the two transfers around reel changes, in which case you might have to break the sound file up and sync it in sections to the video.

I'm sorry, if this has been asked already, but are these the only things the original LG 4K release has that the SF one does not.

Different Transfer
"The Night She Came Home" Featurette
"On Location: 25 Years Later" Featurette

Thanks.

Without digging through all the pages, is there any difference, whether it be features or quality between the recent release and the previous 4k release?
