Just watched "Hotel Transylvania 2" on 3D Blu-ray with my younger sis, got it from Amazon India for 239 Indian Rupees ($3.2 / £2.3), and I found it more better and funnier than the first film, although the last part of the story felt a bit rushed, but overall a fun watch. The 3D was well done and helped elevate the viewing experience.

With that, I have successfully completed the Hotel Transylvania 3D Collection. Now hoping for Hotel Transylvania 3 to come out on 3D Blu-ray soon... Random Space Media, your time has come.

That would be nice but companies want to make money and 3D is dying.

Unless you already have a collection of 3d movies already, there is barely any new content coming, perhaps some old 3d movies still getting converted to bluray is about it nowadays.

And trying to get existing 3d blurays is difficult and expensive to import from other countries and most people have to worry about regions too.

So the market for replacement 3d tvs because your existing one broke is extremely small.

Hotel Transylvania 3 was the one and only time I ever knowingly bought a bootlegged disc. It was because the film was presented on Vudu in 3D and this was certainly copied from that or a similar streaming source. .The quality of the 3D was quite good but with judder.

I just hope to never be put in a situation like this again where I have to contradict my own principles.

I bought my first (and last) anaglyph BR of Friday the 13th Part 3D on ebay a while back. Inside was another unlabeled disk. Popped it in and to my surprise it was a video-on-demand version of the film in side-by-side, with the out-of-screen titles! And not a bad copy at all! Love that disk.

After reading comments here, I just bought Scream Factory’s corrected replacement disk of the film I saw on ebay. Should come this weekend. Can’t wait to see it and compare!

Just watched Scream Factory’s Friday the 13th Part 3 3DBR corrected replacement disk. Hate to say it, but I think my old side-by-side version is better? Only because of all the digital “grain” in the blacks. I can probably reduce this by adjusting sharpness settings on my TV (LG OLED65E6P), but hate to have to constantly mess with settings for different media.

The Scream Factory version is a bit cleaner in some areas, but I don’t mind some dirt and a softer image in old 3D films, as long as the blacks are black and not digitally grainy. I guess both are OK, and as someone else mentioned in the thread for that film, it’s the best we’re gonna get.

Still love that corny old film. Titles are great! Scared me to death back then.

Have you used your S&M calibration disc? Maybe your contrast needs adjusting.

I just watched this back to back on my 150" scope projector and it was lot better than I thought.

I had originally watched it on my 65" OLED and it was meh and wasn't too impressed couple years ago but it totally different experience going big screen.

I have to say that part 1 was kind of dark for the most of the movie so it didn't really benefit as much as part 2. Part 2's 3D was a little better as well. I still enjoyed both of them in 3D... started to watch other ones without 3D and it wasn't as immersive.

Alas, disc hasn’t arrived yet. But when it does, will definitely see if that addresses all the digital junk in the blacks on this one. Thanks.

Watched Mockingjay 1&2. Good movies with good, not great 3D. The Atmos is very good and then there’s Jennifer. Recommended.

Just watched Sword Master. Yowsa. Some great 3d! Beautiful falling snow, flying debris, eye-popping scenery and a vivid, crystal-clear image throughout. Loved it! Would give this one 5/5 for 3D. Conventional Chinese moviemaking with lots of side plots that can be a bit confusing to piece together, but thoroughly enjoyable story and stunning 3D.

It gets 4.5/5 in my personal database, only because I find it too hard to rank based on 3D alone. Otherwise I’d have tons of 5/5 films with only a handful of those being ones that I’d want to see over and over. Case in point …

Also watched Thunder and the House of Magic. Amazing 3D with loads of pop-outs, stunning depth and basically the whole thing looking like a 3D diorama playing out inside the room. 5/5 for 3D.

But for me … this was a chore to get through. Hubby stopped watching 10 minutes in. It’s the first (and last) animated kid’s film in my collection and gets 1/5 in my rankings. I may pull it out again to show a guest what 3D looks like, but doubt it, since there are so many other eye-popping examples with adult themes. Ended up watching the whole thing basically to see colorful 3D shapes moving in and out of the screen. But I’m biased and just don’t like films for the kiddos. Others place this in their top 10, which is totally understandable. But this grumpy old grizzly and cartoon cats don’t mix.

Cartoons aren’t for the young, they’re for the young at heart.

Frankenweenie from Tim Burton. Absolutely marvelous, with Burton on top form. Shot natively, apparently, which is always a major plus in my book. The film was tremendous. I'm sure the Suits at Disney would have appreciated the film being shot in colour to broaden it's box office appeal (in the US $35m on a $38m budget)...

Loved it, even though it was animated and probably meant for kids. Great 3D.
