The Dark Knight
So that explains why it was so terrible! It was the combo of Nolan and Bale!

That's just silly. The Star Wars and Terminator Universe don't co-exist.

to say the very least...the movie didnt add anything to the unverse of terminator except stellar fx and decent acting which it previously lacked. The story wasnt needed and felt like a "oh and btw..this is what happened after judgement day...but not right after...like..10-20 years after"

it was okay...a 7.5/10 in my book due to the mediocre storyline...everything else was good.
What more character development did you need? We know who John Connor is. We have had 2 full movies of him already. We know who Reese is. We needed info on the new character and that is what we got.

That's a terrible reason to have little to no character development on the main characters.

Who needs character development on Batman? We got to know him in the first film. . .

One of the complaints there was of The Dark Kinght was Bruce/Batman didn't have enough character developement. Though I personally disagree with this.

If he went against the mainstream, he'd love Terminator Salvation.

Really? I guess I never heard that critism. There were many defining moments for Bruce Wayne in that movie, so I'd have to disagree.

However, I don't want to turn this into a Batman vs. Star Trek vs. Terminator thread.

We'll keep the conversation about Terminator movies.

What? He went from an amateur in Begins, to eventual hero, who would then face his biggest challenge in the Joker (and
[Show spoiler]losing, basically
). In that whole process the Batman character came into being basically when he didn't show any limits and did what was necessary (yet not always heroic) to complete an objective. From Batman Begins to The Dark Knight one can't possibly say the character of Batman didn't evolve. If anything I think Bruce/Batman was just overshadowed by Joker, Two-Face, Gordon and THEIR development as characters, even Fox developed (showed his morals).

So... Terminator... going again tonight and imagine I'll be analyzing every detail now haha.

Well, thus far, Star Trek has been the biggest movie of the year, making it the "movie to beat."

I'd have to agree, Star Trek has some strange cross-demographic appeal going for it at the moment. Friend of mine said she had two valley girls next to her on opening night who wouldn't shut up, rewind ten years and put Star Trek with that and it wouldn't go together haha.

Well, it has that whole "good movie" thing going for it. It helped break the stigma of it being a "geeky" thing because it's got a few really good looking leading men for the ladies and it's got the action for the guys. It's not as strange as you would think it is.

IMHO, it deserves everything it's getting. It's nice to see a good movie (for once) get the critical and monetary riches it deserves.

That's why I'm very happy to see Terminator tanking. Let's see how badly it drops off this weekend.

Word of mouth is a very powerful thing.

Oh I agree, maybe not so much about Terminator but the rest, it was a solid movie (speaking as somebody who was a Star Trek virgin prior to two weeks ago).

That critical and monetary praise though, there was a movie last summer that met that criteria, but I won't mention it by name out of threat of hijacking this thread.

Even though I wasn't amazed by the story in TS, I would still like to see the trilogy completed. Maybe they have an amazing story to tell, and this was just the meager beginnings. Like it or not - this story is all we have. I'd like to see the story closed out once and for all - even if it's not the story I would have liked.

So, I hope it does well enough to ensure the sequel(s).
