Yeah, Sorry for the late Reply.
The uk warner re-issues have the New slim Retro Warner Logo on Spine & Slipcovers, But Nothing Warner on Disc Boot up & Play, (Same Discs as MGM/Fox)

I had asked about this awhile ago, and the prevailing sentiment in the responses I received was that there weren't disc problems, there were player laser problems that these discs were exposing - 3 or more people said that their problems were resolved not by exchanging the discs but instead by getting their players serviced.

Now people think there actually were a ton of defective discs? Has anyone had problems with these discs and resolved that just by exchanging for another copy of the same discs? I did see someone who switched from the US discs to the UK ones, with that fixing their problem, but I wonder if those are truly the exact same discs content-wise. There may always have been a separate UK authoring for things like audio tracks/subtitles, and something weird in the US authoring that is exposing player problems may not be present in the UK authoring.

The UK Sets are the same content wise as the U.S Versions but dont have the problems the U.S sets have, must just be down to a Manufacturing problem.
My player is the ub820, no issues whatsoever from the UK Discs.
(Only QOS & Skyfall where the problem on the U.S Set i had, Major picture break-up on Both in various places, Quantum, The opening Car Chase starts Breaking up as Bond is Driving down the Dirt path.
Nothing on discs, No amount of Cleaning Discs fixes it. Defo a U.S Manufacturing Defect.

@Geoff, Sorry mate i was incorrect about the Warner Logo’s on Spine, They are only on the Lower Left Rear of Cases and Slipcovers.
Thats the only Difference visible Between the Original FOX/MGM Releases.
Discs are identical also. MGM is still at top of Spine & Slips!

Spectre - Played on Panasonic UB820. No issues.

All 4 discs appeared to be spotless and without any noticeable scratches. Both players are running the latest firmware.
I’ve got the same set. CR worked fine in my Oppo 203 in 4k. The other three in 4k didn’t on the Oppo 203. Firmware is up to date.

I replaced the whole set with The 4K U.K set and no issues now thankfully. Fingers crossed it will stay like that.

I had issues with the last three discs. My 4K quantum Disc has blocking/freezing issues when Bond visits Mathis.

Skyfall when M was summonsed to the headmasters office with Tanner! Lol.

Spectre at the beginning, right from the get go.

It cost me another Ł40 to buy the U.K 4k set but at least they work.thankful to wasn’t the Oppo 203 I’ve got. It’s just the bloody remote that’s failing and I can’t one for love nor money as they say! Bloody thing!

Checking that the US and UK discs are actually bit-for-bit identical (which would rule out authoring issues, leaving only manufacturing issues) would require a BDInfo or other computer-based scan, which I have not seen in this thread or elsewhere. The user-observable content being the same does not mean the authoring was the same. In the absence of confirmation that the authorings are the same, we have to treat the discs as potentially being different, which means manufacturing flaws cannot be confirmed. And a hole in the manufacturing flaw theory, as I stated before, is that some people have resolved their issues with the US discs not by replacing the discs but by having their players serviced.

No snark intended, just trying to get to the bottom of this.

Well I put my U.K. discs in and they asked if I wanted to carry on from where I left off previously with the U.S discs. The points where they stopped working for me. Would that suggest a manufacturing issue? They must have been authorised the same I’m guessing?

So far, the little that Warner has done with MGM on the new deal - is mostly reissues of existing discs, with the Warner logo on the cover but not much else. Sort of like Paramount did with Miramax. Come to think of it, actually, there has been, very little, if not any, new releases of MGM with Warner, or with the Warner logo, at all.

MGM has been laying very low with mass home video releases - mostly dedicated to theatrical and streaming, like the bubble it is, and relying home video mostly for reissues and, above all, licensing. I honestly too prefered when MGM did things worldwide instead of licensing, like they did with Fox, we had a lot of good MGM Fox titles back then, but.. such is how it is right now.

Warners are there to do what MGM wants them to do, not the other way around. MGM just want to keep a few extant discs in print and don't give a shit about mining their back catalogue themselves on physical media, not even with newly remastered Blus of old favourites, to say nothing of 4K. The current regime are more than happy to carry on putting their remasters onto streaming/digital and to license out practically anything (Bond and Rocky aside) to anybody for physical release. Will that change under MGMazon? Dunno.

Has anyone viewed the iTunes 4k versions of the older films?
I know they are not HDR so-
How do they compare to the blu-rays?

I just did the same, so you're welcome everybody. Here's hoping the codes in the box aren't expired. I'm guessing I'll miss it by a few days.

Does this set include all the content included in the standalone UHDs of the 4 Craig films?

Since we probably won't get a complete Bond UHD set until next year, I'm gonna order this along with NTTD UHD, unless the Craig UHD standalones have unique content.

Sorry, I'm posting here because I really don't want to search through 200 pages of the thread for the answer.

No idea on your question, but there’s a convenient “Search This Thread” function you can use. Makes scrolling through 200 pages a thing of the past.

If you remove the Blu Ray case from the set, it will give room for No Time To Die

I appreciate the suggestion. Unfortunately, my question is a bit too complicated to search for any particular terms. I'd have to scroll through the individual pages and skim every post to see if anyone discussed it.

Hopefully someone knows the answer and can post here.

Since it got buried, my question is:

- does this set contain all bonus content from the 4 standalone Craig Bond UHD sets?

I would presume it does, it seems to have the UHDs and BDs from those 4 individual sets.

I just want to confirm before I buy and discover I made a mistake.

Thanks!

The bonus content is identical between the 4K set and the standalone 4Ks. Keep in mind that you'll be missing out on the special features exclusive to the Sony Collector's Edition release of Casino Royale and the Target-exclusive DVD for Spectre regardless of which 4K option you go with.

Thanks! I have the Sony Collector's Edition BD of CR already.

I have:
CR - Sony CE BD, BD in Bond 50 set
QoS - standalone BD, identical BD in Bond 50 set
Skyfall - standalone BD
Spectre - standalone BD

I'm hoping the BDs included with the UHDs will duplicate my standalone BDs of Qos, Skyfall and Spectre and allow me to sell them.

But mostly I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything from the standalone UHDs by buying the 4-film UHD set, which is half the price.
