Received my copy from Amazon and all three discs have scratches/fingerprints wth is going on with scream factory? I have Halloween II coming and it's probably going to be the same. This is getting ridiculous! Each disc looks like Freddy Krueger went to town on them

My first one had a scratched original color timing disc. The second I got today had a scratched UHD disc. At least one of the spindles are incredibly short and barely pop out over the surface of the disc.

I do as well, but I have to watch my own version with the 1999 color timing, fixes to the sloppy SF edits, and the Criterion mono.

I just watched this Scream Factory UHD for the first time, Dolby Vision and the Atmos track reduced to 5.1

Wow, flawless. Much improved DV from the Lionsgate disc, which I watched on the same setup a year ago. On that version the daytime scenes were too bright, I remember switching to Dark Mode and then back when it went to night scenes.

This new version was very natural. I’m excited to check out II and III and take in the Cundey Vision.

Are extra features on BRs subtitled? I am asking this for a friend who is having terrible time trying to choose whether to order boxset from Italy or pick these 5 UHDs from local store which imports flicks...Subs would make difference to go for these new Screams...

I think the added scenes are eye rollingly bad. Superfluous and boring as hell. Carpenter didn't even bother putting any score on them. "Carpet material!" he called them. "I ho'd right out."

I prefer it as well. I’m glad this version was included on the blu ray, but it’s a shame the new scenes are in SD (while separately they’re in HD).

I've run into this problem with the spindles a whole bunch of times over the past few months. Spindles that are so short they don't hold the discs. Not just from Shout factory, either. I have no idea what's going on with QC these days but it's downright depressing at times.

In fact, I just ordered a replacement of WestWorld season 3 for that issue.

Wait, so if you view those scenes separately, they're in HD, but in the extended version, they're SD inserts? Should I ask why?

It's too bad too. Aside from that the picture looks good. But the fluctuation makes it pretty much unwatchable.
Fluctuating brightness is an issue in general with some older LG sets when viewing Dolby Vision. 2016 sets had that issue. Mine suffers from that so I don't use Dolby Vision.

I don’t have the Shout Factory UHD version yet, but that is how it was presented on the Shout Factory 15-disc set. Can anyone confirm whether the new blu ray extended cut has new scenes in HD?

They're standard definition on every release.

Why did they include the inserts as SD only when they have the separate scenes in HD? Was it simply because when they did the previous release they didn't have the footage in HD, and they just used the same extended cut they made last time so they wouldn't have to go through the effort of making it over again with the HD footage? What is the condition of the HD footage? Would it have been usable in the extended cut?

Now that my copy has finally arrived, I compared the original color timing to the newer one, and I must admit...the original looks SO MUCH better.

I havent gotten around to watching halloween 2 yet. I was just going by the credits at the end of part 1.

The credits list the actor as playing 23 year old myers.

The Halloween II end credits make the same mistake with Myers’ age.

Without going back through a million posts, I have a question regarding the extended cut on the 3rd disc. What is the running time? I can't afford buying them yet and I need the info for the custom cover set I am doing. The slipback photo on here does not say. It only mentions 91 min. Looking on IMDB, the extended cut is 101 min. The review on Films At Home said it has tv footage, but not the full tv cut. I was hoping for some clarification about what is on this release. Thanks!

I got my copy from Amazon today. No scratches and this is the best the movie has ever looked. No complaints.
