Yup, it's a Yamaha RX-V640.

I'm gonna try switching from Linear PCM to bitstream on the PS3. It's the only thing I haven't done, cuz I was told Linear PCM was "the way to go".

Uh, if your receiver can't handle PCM surround (aka lossless surround), then you need to be using the bitstream function on your PS3. My receiver can only handle Dolby Digital and DTS, so I have my PS3 set up to bitstream and it works great.

Finally had the time to watch the movie, and figured out the Audio.

In terms of PQ, no, it's no Bladerunner, however it's still excellent!

At then end, I still actually almost shed a tear for Arney!

A lot of people are having trouble with there T2's, i just bought mine on Amazon.com and played it on my Sony S350, i haven't updated my firmware and the movie works EXCELLENT, took like 4 minutes to load though, but after that, it was awesome. I even thought it wouldn't work since, many are having that problem.

T2 remains the best of the 4 movies so far.

I am very confused about this movie (well, the blu-ray releases of it).

I never bought this flick. When I got into Blu, I checked the tier ratings at AVS forum. It was rated as one of the poorest releases ever on Blu (one step above "Coal"). In reading these threads, I see that the AQ is much improved, but the PQ is only minimally better then the last release (which would make me think that it is junk), but the actual reviews show that the PQ is pretty good (certainly not reference quality-it's no Pixar or Disney release), but certainly a satisfactory PQ.

In doing further research, it looks like that has been released a few dozen times.

So, is that tier info that I saw based on a much earlier release (and the PQ on the last and current release significantly improved over that) or, is this PQ still deeply problematic.

Bottom line, I don't want to waste my time if the PQ is at a DVD level. But, if that tier info is no longer accurate, then I want to jump on the BB deal.

Thanks in advance.

Uhhhhhhhh, I had it on DVD. There's no comparison. Speaking purely on what I see on my system, the Blu version is far better.

why do people still think if a BD gets a decent/poor rating it must be on the level of a DVD? If it gets a less than satisfactory rating, it's STILL far superior to anything you'll find on a standard-def DVD. The last T2 from Lionsgate wasnt exactly a mindblowing transfer but it was undoubtedly much more detailed than all the prior DVD versions. Bottom line is a Blu Ray could never be as bad, or on the same level, as a DVD.

anyone who owns the UK version of T2, not the Skynet but the one that came a year or so ago, would you say that version is better than the Skynet that was just released here? I hear the UK version has no DNR and more grain, which would make it more attractive to me.

I imported the UK blu when it first came out. The Skynet version has better PQ, trust me.

The UK had quite a bit of digital noise, not grain. There is a huge difference.

lolololol. This couldn't be any further from the truth. UK version definitely beats out this DNR and EE Skynet release.

Agreed. Seeing side by side comparisions the UK edition has more detail then the new skynet edition.

Someone posted a screen shot compairing the skynet edition and japan edition and even the japan edition beat it.

As for how the Japan and UK version compair I do not know since I not seen direct screen comparisions but from what I read they are suppose to be close.
