If Ock and Gobby step right out of the Raimi-verse and into the MCU, their tech would be positively quaint compared to Holland's Stark suits.

[Show spoiler]I THINK the leaks gave a reason, but it was so vague. In my head I pictured it like, okay, the villains need an upgrade after their tech was battle damaged with their last encounter with Spider-Man. But again, that's just how I imagined it while reading the leaks. Could totally be another reason.

I do remember other people that read the leaks as well were really annoyed that almost every Spidey villain needs to involve Iron Man somehow. Even the classic Sony Spidey villains from the pre-MCU era.

It appears Marvel is trying to do another trailer misdirect again. There is even evidence that looks like Doc Ock is actually coming from behind Peter and not really facing him face to face like the trailer makes it out to be.

If you look closely, Ock’s tentacles when grabbing hold of Peter are rusted metal and the original color they were shown in Spider-Man 2.

However, the facial shot of Ock has them looking gold and red. The theory I’ve heard is he absorbs Peter’s nanobot tech from the Iron Spider suit.
