If I have to choose between a bunch of gimmicky extras and higher PQ/SQ, I will always choose the latter.

But Fox had the release date, they'd advertised the pre-order, they were married to it, go figure.

What you're probably thinking of is "Spiderman 2.5" and all the other dopey promotional re-releases that mindlessly borrowed the cool decimal-point title idea without realizing why the first one used it in the first place...
are you telling me that you buy every single re-release ever made on DVD. cause i would buy some like spidey 2.5 knowing that there is an additional footage in the film. I re-bought some re-releases that had some additional footages to it. I also ignored completely some of the unnecessary re-releases like men in black. don't get me wrong but i liked men in black, yet the deluxe edition was a complete waste of time for me. bottom line i just hope they don't pull that off on BD. if spidey 4 is about to be re-released and sony decided to re-release all spidey trilogies with additional features and uncompressed PCM for spidey 1 and 2, Then i am definitely going to get pissed off.

I don't wish my home theater to look like the internet. When I'm watching a movie, I don't want a bunch of little screens popping open with icons and text all cluttering up my screen. Watching ordinary TV is bad enough will all the crap intruding on the picture.

Include lots of extras, but make them a separate feature from the main presentation. Don't clutter my screen space with a bunch of interactive nonsense.

Er, no, just the ones that get months of hype about whether the director's going to pickup mid-sequel reshoots for Extended editions.

Sony claimed there was some--
But that was before Sam Raimi went around in interviews saying "Don't buy it, fans, it's a fake! The longest deleted scene was thirty seconds, tops! Every script scene made the cut!"

...But, going on the general theory, it's okay:
Before X1.5 came out, we all thought, well, maybe Bryan had time to post-production one new scene, might have fit it into his filming schedule.

the technologies that the BDA promised to be available like profile 1.1, needs to be met right now. this is affecting alot of potential good releases from WB. BD GROUP NEEDS TO ACT RATHER THAN TALK. FOR ACTIONS COUNT.

The spiderman blu-ray set comes with spiderman 2.5 along with 1, 2 and 3 so its a 4 disc set

I know that, what i am talking about is re-releases on a format. for example the BD RELEASE of spidey 1,2 and 3 on BD is coming out soon with no Uncompressed sound for 1 and 2, what's to stop sony from re-releasing it with uncompressed sound for 1 and 2. this would definitely suck, since
1) the discs are very pricey,
2) the spidey movies are great and a must own, but i don't see myself rebuying it.

anyways that is not what the argument is about, it is about interactivity, would you care about it? personally, I love movies, and part of the enjoyment i get from from movies involves PQ and Sound. As long as i have an EXCELLENT PQ AND LOSSELESS SOUND, I don't care about anything else.

I don't care about most extra features. I cannot remember ever watching a director's commentary or anything else on a disc besides bloopers, deleted scenes and alternate endings. Those few things are worthy for ME, but they put them on there for those people that do enjoy them.
It's better to have a bunch of extra crap that you might never use, than to have nothing at all and just a plain jane movie. I'm sure more people would complain of lack of extras than those of us that just ignore them.

These things happen all of the time with movies like first you have one then there is like a remastered version where it has like a whole bunch of other audio formats with better sound its just the nature of business but the biggest plus to buying spiderman is to help blu-ray to win and so you buy the trilogy now then when the next comes out do it again and so on and so on and plus they are making more spiderman movies then just 4 so you know thats going to happen without a doubt

I agree with you. but interactivity again, isn't really the reason i would re-buy a movie.

I would. I usually love playing around with different features on players. To me it's just another part of the movie watching experience. Call me a dork, but I don't care. If it's available and is done well, I'll check it out.

I was kinda pissed when I got Silent Hill, KoH and there were no extras, its just principal. I think there is great potential, they could do something incredible that might add to the movie. I mostly just listen to commentaries, though.

I love the PCM sound of blu ray. I could care less about some of the other stuff.
YOU SHOULD MAKE THIS A POLL !!!!!!!!!!!!. For me, I could NOT CARE LESS about "interactivity".....
