ok well 1 thing for certain I just found out that so called mad max anthology bluray set I sold game exchange 29 bucks yeah i'm not rebuying it back

so I guess I'll get the 4k's of road warror if your saying it looks better despite sound and it seems thunderdome audio is ok is that right on 4k?

Happy I found out about the stacked discs. So, I cancelled my pre-order and picked up RW & TD earlier today. Already had the Kino MM and have no desire to watch Furiosa again. Gibson is only decent Max.

Yes. Sound is very much image-based.

Motion Picture Imaging (MPI). That's why i included the link about The Wizard of Oz restoration.

True, but they only handle picture scanning and restoration, right? Audio wrangling would be a different department, I would think. I'm honestly asking.

At any rate, I guess they would at least know where to forward the emails.

Films in Warner Bros.’ classic library will also be released on 4K HDR and worked on at MPI under Bailey’s direction. He is Vice President of Sales & Motion Picture Imaging.

I respectfully have to disagree here. Yes they're looking into it, which is great, but how else are they going to know that people actually want this addressed if the demand isn't there for the issue to be remedied?

If there's no demand, what's to push them to actually fixing the issue?

is there a problem with the Anthology? I was to order it this week even if I have the first movie from Kino..

main raison to get the anthology was it was bilingual which the Kino didn't have on their first disc

Originally I had the anthology set pre-ordered (despite already owning the Kino UHD of Mad Max + The High Octane Collection) but ended up cancelling my pre-order last minute in favor of the singles.

Sounds like I narrowly dodged that bullet! lol

I have a few stupid questions here all, if you don't mind.

1. I'm reading that the stand alone Road Warrior disc has revisionist audio. Is it a different disc than what is in this set?

2. Is Mad Max (original movie) the same transfer that is on the Kino UHD?

3. Is buying the high octane collection the only way to get the Black & Chrome Edition of Fury Road on a physical disc? Was this version ever released on UHD in the USA?

I bought the Best Buy steelbook editions for Warrior and Thunderdome, as I only needed parts 2 and 3, due to having the steel for Fury Road and the Kino for part 1.

I would think it's odd to have two different discs/transfers for each of the three original films.

Can someone please fill in my knowledge gaps here.

Answers:

1. Same disc for both stand alone release and anthology box set. 2.0 and 5.1 tracks are downmixes of the abysmal Atmos track.

2. From what I've heard it's the same transfer but with the Warner logo instead of the MGM logo since Warner has the film internationally.

3. Black & Chrome Edition available here

My set arrived, upon opening the case, on the left side are two discs (Max 1 and Max 2 movies) stacked, and on the right side two discs (Max 3 and Max 4) also stacked.

That’s weird mine is a 4 disc holder with separate disc spots. This is just the standard set you bought?

Yup, bought from Best Buy, it arrived today, only set that I know of that was released here in the USA. Maybe different manufacturing plants?
