Yes, it came in a cardboard mailer. Both of the Criterion UHDs I received today came in them, albeit as two separate packages.

For those that care and haven't seen the movie, one of these caps is a pretty huge spoiler.

Also, I'm not a big compression expert, but the Criterion Blu-ray seems pretty comparable to the Lionsgate.

So I got this and Kane today. Came in a bubble mailer that was wrecked. I allready knew by then but yeah pretty wrecked. Could have been worse but Gems has a broken disc tray so the UHD disc (of course) was loose and has a mark. The packaging itself, which looks gorgeous btw, is dented from corners and the spine has "snapped". Watched it and it played through. Great film, fourth viewing for me, and a very nice transfer. Getting a replacement though.

Kane I haven't watched but wasnt that bad but loose discs as well but this time not the uhd. The packaging is crap for this one with the sleeves but I'll just put the discs in plastic sleeves like in my WKW and other sets that have it. Slipcover was broken, dented and creased but insides apart from loose discs was in good shape. Replacing this one as well still.

Has anyone tried the Panasonic top menu trick for the blu (on a region B player)? Debating importing this but if I can’t access the special features it’ll have to go down in priority.

The encode on the Liongate is slightly better (for the 1080 disc). The UHD looks great though! I'll probably grab this in the July '22 sale.

I hated that they changed the cover art but admittedly it looks allot better in person.

Received mine yesterday (priority) and despite 3 days UPS shipping it came with some creases at the top and the inner digi - the exact reason why I hate digis - due to amazon's ****ing plastic bags. It could've been worse (front, back and spine are fine), but I won't be ordering such Criterion releases from amazon anymore going forward. Guess I'll use diabolik instead. And I really wish Criterion would use keep cases for the 4Ks instead.

Can confirm it works for the Blu on a region B Panasonic player.

My four showed up today in one of them brown potato sacks rather than a plastic one, no creases or crushing that I can see, just a ding to the back corner of K. I'll take that.

I don’t think it works with all discs, but when you boot up a locked disc on a region-b (or other) panasonic player and get the region locked message you can press the stop button (to go to the player menu) and then press top menu to bypass the region lock screen and go straight to the disc’s main menu instead.

In my experience stuff shipped with UPS always arrive in worse condition than when it's shipped regular.
