I rather pay to purchase classic games rather than have a subscription to access them. I really hope this option is being offered.

It's only one game, but hopefully that's a sign they will be downloadable since I don't know of any game you can buy and not download. That is if this wasn't just a glitch or anything, but if it's not a glitch, then it's a sign they might actually be doing at least one thing right with this.

$10 per month which will become £10 per month for the UK is a complete scam when you get a years worth for like £30-38 on offer.

Their whole entire pricing and offering to include PS+ and PS Now sounds like BS when the pricing seems to be more expensive than you pay individually for both atm

I knew Sony weren't going to be able to resist trying to make a cash grab BS thing. Remember when MS tried to raise the price of Xbox for basic access to such a high degree, the backlash was huge. I don't know why but i feel like this "leak" is all BS and designed to try and feed sites and see what the consensus ends up on how people feel giving them free analytics to scrape. Especially if they can use a keyword like "Spartacus" to filter responses out.

The whole "doing limited game trials for people" is basically developers offering a demo that Sony is now paywalling too imo behind pricing that screams cash grab rather than a genuine interest to try and drive sales.

Yep, I never pay more than £40 for 12 months.

If they try bending me over, more than they have, I'll just start playing my Xbox more...
Stick to Exclusive SP games on my PS

I'm in a similar boat atm. I didn't like the price rise but i got deals usually to make it cheaper and i felt it was okay to pay that still. However if they do not have a proper combined 12 month pricing option like they do presently to counter that ridiculous 1 month pricing, i'd be incredibly surprised.

I will bottom line this for myself. Unless this service allows us to play the ENTIRE legacy library natively (no streaming), including PS3 games, I am not interested in this! If Sony cannot provide this, I just hope we will be allowed to continue to subscribe to PS Plus separately from PS Now. I do not want to pay for an arbitrary price hike and forced to take a service I don't want.

From what I hear yeah PS Plus will remain. The extra BS tiers is just E-begging from Sony. Kinda like what Nintendo did for their excellent expansion online service.

I just think it would be nice to be able to play MGS4 again. I’m shocked it is still stuck on the PS3 and never made its way to any other platform in all the years since.

At least with Nintendo's you can play everything natively.

That is a pretty high bar, I think you can safely cross this off your list. If Sony could meet that requirement it would be amazing, but some of those legacy games are probably lost to closures/mergers/acquisitions...and some of the legacy titles probably don't meet Sony's standards anymore.

I actually hope Sony can meet your standard. I'm not exactly excited to subscribe to another service, but it would be great to have access to everything.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I wasn't demanding that Sony make the entire legacy library available. I know that would be kind of unreasonable. What I was saying that of the legacy library that IS available to us, I want it all to be able to be played natively (no streaming), including PS3 games. I'm not paying for streaming with games. It's not the same as music and movies/tv. If Sony moves forward with this initiative and PS3 titles still have to be streamed, well they just wasted their time and mine with this.

I see, your emphasis was the "no streaming." There is definitely a market that is well served by game streaming, like people who don't/won't/can't buy the console. Also pretty convenient as a quick way to demo a game.

I'm with you though, let us download the games and play them.

PS+ Premium is $16 per month and gets you cloud streaming, classic games, and game trials.
I hope there's a cheaper option with access to classic games where one doesn't have to pay for cloud streaming and game trials.

Wouldn't $10 just be if you subscribe month to month? I assume the yearly price will be a lot less if it's just the same as PS+ right now.

Um, that's NOT how GamePass works and there's a reason EA added their service to it - the revenue generated from subscriptions? They get a piece of that. Game developers get a piece of it too and if the gamer wants to own the game they can still buy it, they have to if they want to keep it. Plus the deluxe editions with all the bells and whistles aren't part of the games either. It's not just MS games that are on it for a reason.

Only issue I have with Gamepass is a simple one. They are always curated lists. So whatever game you see that’s not MS published can vanish & be swapped out for a game you have 0 interest in.

In many ways, i think PS Now has tbe same issue of games that will be on there for a given time, sometimes indicated and then disappear. To me, i probably have gotten way too lazy with my gaming and spoilt with PS+ allowing you to download at anytime you want if you still have an active subscription whereas with PS Now even if you downloaded it once it's taken off, you're screwed.

I also recently had a situation where i wanted to play Control Ultimate Edition and basically didn't have a PS5 at the time i redeemed via PS+ and now it will only give me the PS4 version of the game plus the expansions. Not the Ultimate Edition which was given to PS+ owners. That frigging sucks and i missed out on Maneater again because you can't redeem PS5 games initially on PS+ using the PS4 store. So i had kinda bit the bullet and started using the app/website later to avoid missing out on any other games after that sorta period.

You always say this but didn't you also just say you beat GT7 like 3 days after it came out? Yet games being pulled from Gamepass after 6-8 months is too much to bear.
