Question Friday the 13th Question

I know that there are Friday the 13th Parts 1-3 and the remake, 2-3 and the remake coming out this month. (June 16, 2009). Just one question. I have the DVD box set and I don't know if I want to sell it or not.
Will Parts 4-6 be released on Blu-Ray??????

I'd sell the DVD box most definatly. 4 - 6 will be out eventually.

The new Blu-Ray of the original is great, and I can't wait for 2 and 3 in a couple weeks.

I have the first already on Blu-Ray, but I just wasn't sure if I should get 4-6 on DVD since the Deluxe Editions are coming out June 16, 2009, as well.

Also, are Jason Goes To Hell and Jason X going to Blu-Ray???

I need to complete my Jason collection on Blu.

Yes both versions are on there, it looks great, there's a lot of depth of field and plenty of 3D gags of crap flying and being shook in the screen, at least in the 30min I had time to watch. Usual problems with red/blue anaglyph apply

I guess I would hold on to your box set for a little while longer. I just hope they dont rush the blu-ray job on the sequels.

When would you think the sequels would be released?

How long should I hold onto my box set?

The rumor I've heard is a box set of all 10(11?) is due out later this year.

But will they be released individually? I prefer it.

Blu-Ray.com has no record of there being a box set with all 10 of them...

That's because right now it's just a rumor with no fact backing it up. I'd prefer the individuals too, from what I hear all the movies after 6 are not worth buying.

As a collector, my OCD will kick in. Haha. If I start a series I have to finish it. So I will be buying all of them. I just want them coming out individually, I just want an announcement, I'll be happy, then.

Im sure every few months the studio will release a couple of sequels. As I remember they came to dvd a couple at a time. Very slowly too.

The blus are coming faster. The only hold up I can see is Jason X and Jason Goes to Hell since they are New Line.

Should I should not get those new Deluxe Editions?

And when should I sell that box set?

Yep, that'll be the hold up on a complete box set.
Neither Paramount nor New Line will share rights to put out a complete set including FvJ.
More than likely it will be 2 sets. A Paramount set like the DVD set and another set from New Line.

I want them individually anyways, I know Freddy Vs. Jason is a Canadian release and it's coming to the U.S. in September. No news on Jason X, Jason Goes To Hell, or any of the other sequels to Friday the 13th.
I need themm

As soon as I here the Friday the 13th movies are coming out I sell my DVD's right before release date. Until then.. I keep my DVD's until it's time to upgrade.

The DVDs came out at a rate of two per year until the original 8 were released. It was painful as a fan to wait that long. They seem to be getting these out a little faster now. The first 3 have been released in a span of less than 4 months.

With the re-release of 4-6 on DVD later this year, that would seem to indicate a timeline where all 8 original Paramount releases will be complete on blu-ray by this time next year, if not much sooner. Since the blu-ray versions trail the DVD re-releases by a few months.

I have the DVD box set, & am considering upgrading. But I think I'm going to wait for a Blu set to be announced before I do.
