Glad I never bought the Blu-ray. A dick move by Kino. Unless the 2020 Blu-ray was to test the waters for a 4K. But they probably could have just found the sales stats of Universal's Blu-ray.

I would be inclined to agree with this, but jkoffman already confirmed in this thread they just got a slipcover from the KL sale. That indicates to us that sales couldn't have been high enough on that particular release to indicate that this was crying out for a 4K more than other titles. Right? This year has taught me, how Kino operates is beyond my understanding lol.

I think it’s less about the sales potential of HPD and more about the sales potential of 4K in general. When their BD came out, they had only released Hannibal and were still sorta testing the format waters. They only started going HAM with UHD announcements after Mad Max and Spaceballs, I believe.
