Just got my box in today. Along with my handful of acquisitions, I was suprised to see a Blank Generation magnet and a cassete tape of the 1991 Pit and the Pendulum soundtrack! Wildly cool, thank you DFE! I think I will end up giving my brother the magnet and cassette, he'd appeciate them way more than I would

One (possibly silly) question about the drive-in features, can the films be played individually or only in the drive-in mode?

Dark Force has definitely stepped up our game. Not only is MAKO JAWS OF DEATH an authorized release but we acquired the original 35mm camera negative. It is GUARANTEED to blow doors on the ARROW release. We just saw the color corrected master and it looks gorgeous and what an awesome movie. As for BOG it was done from the only existing 35mm print that was a blow up as it was shot on 16mm but fortunately the print looked overall really good so that one is definitely looking the best it ever has on the new transfer. Very fun movie and this will definitely be the biggest Dark Force drive-in release ever including and all new ramped up DEMON DRIVE-IN MODE. Stay tuned...

Hope you can get around to posting some screengrabs before the disc streets. Arrow's transfer is certainly lacking and I'd double dip easily (I did the same for Pit Stop).

Did you pick up the last Drive in Release of Sharon and Terri's revenge? I've never seen a filthier release. It's the first release (possibly ever) where I've been contemplating selling it out of the fear that someone may discover it in my collection and happen to watch the opening 5 minutes of the film Sharon.

I knew there was hardcore material on each film when I blind bought the release, but I was expecting more Sex and the Office girl level of sleaze and not "we're going to put you on a list" sleaze. I thought I was getting 2 feature films with scenes of an adult nature, instead I got some of the sleaziest material I've had the privilege of viewing with production values that make pornhub look like a big budget Summer blockbuster minus any semblance of plot or story. I honestly can't imagine that a sleazier film exists than Sharon. I say that as both the highest praise and the most damning criticism.

Nothing worse than Vinegar Syndrome has released. It's the Incest and the fact that the girl looks young.

The actual sex isn't anything all that crazy but it was more so the implied father daughter relationship throughout, the constant giggling/laughing and the ongoing "Don't tell your mother" dialog that really set this one apart.. well that and the appearance of both performers. Step bro/Step sister or oops I'm stuck in the washing machine, porn this is not. Something about this just looks incredibly dirty.

If the sweaty, smelly, 70's environment of Motel Hell or Texas Chainsaw Massacre made a porn it'd look like Sharon. The entire thing just looked super skeevy to me.

I dunno. Nothing happens here that hasn’t happened in other films. This one just happens to be super low budget, from the 70s, and the print is not in “pristine” condition. Perhaps the intersection of these three elements really triggers you?

That may be it. I think the biggest issue I had with it was Zebedy Colt's performance. Most films like this are clearly actors and just don't strike me as real people/believable. Sharon for whatever reason felt much more real in an abusive relationship sort of way and it was the dialog that really drives that point home. Making matters worse is that it's a bit hard for me to believe that this would have ever played at any drive-in's in the US and so since that's a big draw with the drive-in collection releases, this one is a bit disappointing in that regard as it's too hardcore for this line and it lacks the fun personality of the intermission bumpers as well.

I also feel it's important to reiterate that I was disappointed by the lack any real plot. The film babyface stands out to me as an all around fun adult film as it has a plotline that serves as a reason for each scene (hardcore or otherwise) in the film and in general didn't feel like a compilation of hardcore scenes the way that Sharon does. Sharon feels very much like a movie version a pornhub compilation that lacks any real thought beyond "let's make an incest film between a father and daughter".

I don't know... clearly it just didn't click with me for a number of reasons but that largely could be because I was expecting something very different.

I did, yes. It was different times and I treat it as such. It’s hard to collect erotic films on Blu-ray without crossing paths with this type of content.
The Taboo series covered similar themes and three of those films are among the best that erotica has to offer. (although they are shot on 35mm and look considerably better than Sharon.)

Just in general terms of collecting films of all genres, I try not to limit myself in terms of controversial content. In the last year I have watched Mother, Schramm, Der Todesking, Trauma, Holiday, Angst, Dogtooth and the titles in question.

I just take it in my stride, watching actors play disturbing roles doesn’t turn us into monsters or depraved. As long as you can look in the mirror and know your morals and standards are of a good standard, I don’t think we should worry about the content of film when the onscreen antics are clearly acting.

When I watched the last Halloween, I didn’t want to stab strangers when I left the cinema.

That's interesting! I thought the incest scenes with Zebedy were cute in a hammy way, so my perception of the movie was completely different from yours. Zebedy was gay in real life, so his scenes with Jean Jennings are a total put-on. He seemed to me to be having great fun satirizing the incest theme, which has been ubiquitous in adult-oriented materials for centuries. In that respect, there's nothing new or unusual about Sharon.

I got my package from the sale today, what joy! I am interested to check out Forced Entry, that's the one that really was a headscratcher from the last release! That extra 9 minutes of footage in the main version on the disc will be welcome, probably will have to see what these extreme VHS inserts are like too.
