Lol can he post proof? Which episodes are good which are not? We need to tabulate it and send it to CBS.

He might have to try with both German and English audio, the generic theme might have been kept on the German or not; so give us as much info as possible to send it to CBS.

According to those screenshots, CBS is aware that they only re-instated some episodes with the original theme while other episodes were left with the generic theme song.

The Big Question is Why?!
Most obvious answer: CBS wanted to save money and it seemed that they had to pay a fee per episode?! I am just guessing here.

Edit: they wanted to save money by changing the intro for the discs with the episodes that had the streaming music put instead of the original music on.

If Ella pops in and tells us more of what happened behind the scenes following the answer she will get from Joe Lee, I would be very grateful. That's the only logical explanation or the blu-ray editor really slept on the job which I don't think that happened.

My season 8 with a question mark for the opening theme song has shipped from Target. So they're getting those out before Christmas, at least.

That's good. Hopefully the more copies that are sent out the more we can get actual information on what's happening with certain peoples discs and whether or not they have the OG intro or not.

As I previously mentioned mine was shipped on the 16th December and I just had confirmation on my tracking information that my bluray has cleared customs for the UK so hopefully in the next day or two I'll have my copy and can share my experience.

Got mine today from moviezyng I can confirmed none of the episodes have the “how soon is now” song now the other musics from original airing was restored.

Well that's annoying. Mines arriving tomorrow and the only reason I bought the CBS mod is because the OG Intro would be coming back otherwise I would have been happy just keeping my Koch s8.

I assume we just email MovieZyng and this Joe guy at CBS to complain?

I was buying anyway, so while it's disappointing the original theme is still absent it's not a dealbreaker.

And to be honest, I usually skip the main titles anyway. This just means I definitely hit the chapter skip button.

Just another bit of the CBS legacy of music screw-ups rearing its ugly head.

It does say in small print on the back that music has been changed.

I just noticed that all of the seasons apart from 1 & 2 say DTS MA as audio.

I wish Season 2 had the same logo on the spine. It looks so out of place next to the others.

Bluray arrived today and just like everyone else it had the instrumental theme. No OG Intro at all.

It's quite possible the information was wrong but hopefully a message to this Joe guy at CBS will clear things up however he is out of the office until the 27th December.

CBS would have to license the theme Song for Season 8 again. They didnt do that for DVD which was very popular back then.
Nowadays physical Media are dying. And CBS only releases Charmed through MOD Releases and didnt show much interest in releasing the show at all on Blu Ray.

I bet without the German Koch Discs they wouldnt have even continued with the Mod Releases in the US. Because they made the deal that they can use the Koch Disc Masters. After that they announced more MOD US Releases. But before there was nothing for a looooooooooong time.
Yes they changed some errors on the koch masters. But changing Errors in an existing master is of course cheaper than to do the whole master.

For me its clear what happened:
Someone at moviezyng and/or CBS was confused because they changed back the songs DURING the episodes on the english Audio to original instead of the Streaming Music. So because of this confusion someone told people that the theme song is back. In reality its only the songs during the episode.
Thats all what happened here.

It was odd to even read that Season 8 will get the theme back. I couldnt believe it actually. And sadly i was right.
I would have loved for all US Fans if those infos would have been true.
But it was not very realistic.....

Nobody "duped" anybody. The people responding didn't know any better because the people they got the answers from didn't give two shits to know the correct answer. It wasn't deception, it was disinterest.
