BDs That Are Out of Print (OOP)

Looks like pretty much every copy of Miami Blues has disappeared from the internet. That was fast considering it was only went OOP about six months ago (I have a copy, was just checking to see what it's going for).

It has been OOP for a lot more than 6 months ago.

Right, I bought it in April 2020, not 2021. Still pretty fast for there to be no copies on eBay or AZM.

There was a big announcement of OOP titles on the Shout site back in March or April of 2020. I think it was the start of their "going oop soon" page. I believe Miami Blues was one of them, as well as Bad Influence, Bolero, Leviathan, Millenium, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, etc.

Whomever got a copy for $7 at that time, consider yourself lucky.

Arrow’s Day of Anger US release seems to be OOP. Not sure if the UK version is still available as it seems to be much cheaper.

The Kino list is missing tons of titles. There's just something that really stinks about 20th Century Fox being swallowed up by Disney, and I'm not interested in anything reproduced/redistributed in any way post-the Disney buyout. So that's another reason I targeted any FOX titles I wanted in the past couple of years, and have taken care of anything/everything I wanted already.

I feel the same way, though if something ends up remastered in 4K like Speed or Home Alone, I'll pick it up. For all of those reissues which are the same disc content, but just packaged with the 'Studios' name and all the Disney crap plastered all over them, I intend to just buy used Fox copies.

It looks like Leaving Las Vegas is definitely OOP on Blu-ray for real now. It's selling on eBay from $15 to $40. Some imports are still in print but the USA BD looks really OOP now. Hopefully that means a Criterion release may be on the way.

I have the DVD and was going to buy this on Blu-ray but just didn't make it a top priority. Hopefully it comes back into print from another label.
