I had the Epson 6050UB. Great projector. Served well for 3D and can get plenty bright. Sadly had to sell after my recent home move. I am happy with my 77A80J and ZD9 TVs. The ZD9 can do 3D but not properly.
Shame that 3D is virtually dead. It had plenty of scope for expansion and enhancements which never materialised and got ditched by the people who produced them. Not many across the pond can afford bigger homes. So projector and bigger audio systems are like a pipe dream which means we got to settle for bigger sized TVs and smaller speakers / soundbars which nowadays are close to medium end separates unless you are one of those guys appearing in Youthman's videos (like the guy with.4 18 inch subs on in the ceiling.). Absolutely crazy but at least I am happy some are able to pursue their dreams and not kept dreaming like me. ![]() |

let's see if we can see a bit more eye to eye if a studio rents me a copy of a film it makes some money (which pays after the fact for making the film) if it sells me a copy (be it digital or physical) it makes a lot more money and if I bring my family to see it in theatres it makes even a lot more money. Streaming can't pull the plug on EST and if the person is willing to pay more for it why would studios pull the plug on EST. The problem is not there the problem is on the other side. when it comes to physical copies if the studio believes they can sell 10M copies they will replicate 10M copies and will pay for 10M copies on the other hand if the studio thinks they can only sell 10k copies they will pay for 10k copies the only way this can backfire is if the studio thinks they can sell 10M copies and they only sell 10k copies. cinema now, target ticket, did not close down and walmart sold Vudu because of external forces (studios or subscription streaming) but because they had enough of hemorrhaging money On the other hand with digital the computers, the storage, the electricity.... are all the same if they sell 10M copies or 10k copies of the film and unlike physical media where it is a one time thing (unless you replicate more copies) that cost is recurring (actually growing because salaries, electricity rate.... go up over time) every month. |

that is the problem Apple was on the verge of bancrupcy when they bought a small unheard of company and rebranded it as itunes, add to it that it was a propriatary format playable on ipods and it made it the juggernaut it is today. Many assume lightning can strike twice and they want to be the one. But like you said they are not entirely similar 1) itunes gave a way for people to be able to buy 1 song instead of an album and people could have hundreds of 1$ songs on something that fits in the pocket instead of needing to make mix cds and have a multi disk holder with them 2) in one case you have very small files in the other they are very large that means there is a huge difference in infrastructure in every way possible and so in the cost of it 3) they had a monopoly so they were able to squeeze record labes and keep more of that 1$ 4) it was a different time, there was no subscription streaming when it was a young format. like you said to many Quote:

So my guess is you are leaning towards the bigger screen and the NZ8 / RS3100? |

The L/R speakers are toed toward the MLP and the front of the speakers are in front of the screen frame. A compromised arc, as in trying to achieve = distance between L/C/R and MLP. Have yet to do my overhead view. Measurements = many ![]() Waiting to see a NZ8 vs NZ9 comparison. ![]() |

Observation: at work we used to invite people for screening some of our content. Normally done in the auditorium which had a large front projection screen and professional grade direct view monitors (30"). Virtually everyone would be looking at the the projection screen. Size does matter ![]() |

I am having a major problem with insulation in my ground floor flat as my ceiling is acting like an echo chamber which is resonating bass badly in the flat upstairs. I am looking at spending £4000 to insulate the ceiling thermally and to trap low frequency sounds from tarvelling upstairs. Once this is done, I can look at cranking up the master volume. Sometimes you have the money but don't have the space and sometimes it's the other way around. ![]() |

I mounted my tv above the other like you do with the fireplace. It works great to just pull it down for the occasional 3D experience and having an HDMI switch box. |

My area that is cheap, take a look at this recent example, also it’s in $US.
https://www.siliconvalley.com/2021/1...0-over-asking/ And yet this area is still mostly suburban. Now as far as projectors, most wouldn’t because they tend to make all room multifunctional with smaller sq ft homes. Last edited by JohnAV; 01-09-2022 at 03:38 AM. |

I have absolutely no interest in a projector. My close-up vision is superior to my distance vision so I prefer using a small screen at a close distance.
After testing various sizes and positions I've found that my ideal set-up is a 28 inch screen at a distance of 23 inches from my eyes. Last edited by PenguinInfinity; 01-09-2022 at 04:40 AM. |
