When the release is good, here comes the nitpickers, you know there's a button on your bluray remote called pop-up menu where you get the menu popping up while the episode you are watching is still on so that you can pick the next episode to watch? Solves your out of order episodes.

That won’t work if the next episode you want to watch is on another disc.

It's 6 disc for 65 episodes so min 10 episodes per disc, unless they screwed the episode line up so bad I bet you will find the episode you need on that disc.

Yes. My guess is this is going to be a wide release. I'm just not sure if that will be immediately or a DMC Exclusive at first and then in a few months or a year turn into a general retail release. The lack of the yellow boarder makes me think it's entry into general retail will be sooner rather than later.

I still betting on 2nd or 3rd week of February given the Canadian info and the info from Viking above. MANY Disney items have had very short pre-order periods in the last couple years so not even that bothersome. DMC may have a 2 or 3 wk head start but not unheard of for them either. Their release date is still next Tues and pretty sure that where the copies above came from

My copy has been shipped. I'm thinking it won't come by Tuesday (although I hope it does!), but yeah, I think the spine shots are coming from people who have their DMC orders. Or? Maybe from DMC leaks?

So more or less as expected, it will be exclusive at first and then wide. When did Zavvi have US stores/operations? When did that happen?

Have no clue, but item ships worldwide in that case.

My guess is sometime after they acquired Arrow. The Zavvi exclusive Legend original artwork edition shipped from the US in Sep '21.

I did a bit of research about this, and I found this interesting tidbit from an old review for the Vol 1 DVD (which uses the same episode order as the BR).

Quote:
According to its package, this three-disc Volume 1 collection holds the first 27 episodes of "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers." This claim is supported by many online episode guides and the show's listing in Bill Cotter's Disney-published book The Wonderful World of Disney Television. The order the episodes are arranged in, however, remains unclear. They are not in the "production order" that Cotter's book provides, nor are they in the "airdate order" that the fallible-but-useful-in-spite-of-selling-out website TV.com offers. Further confusing matters, even an episode list which contains the 27 featured installments in the DVD's order -- Wikipedia.com's -- prefaces the volume's playlist with the 5-part "pilot" episode "To The Rescue" (which Cotter calls "Rescue Rangers To The Rescue"). I suppose such an utter lack of authoritative information is not entirely unexpected considering the syndicated nature of "Chip 'n Dale" and the fact that most viewers tuning in weekday afternoons weren't keeping detailed records.
So TL,DR: There's conflicting information on the "proper" arrangement of episodes, and Disney's BR release copies the episode arrangement used on the Vol 1 DVD release. So for all intents and purposes, the BR has the episodes in the "correct" order.

I've ordered from Zaavi (UK to US) several times. They generally have pretty decent prices during sales, but otherwise my experiences have been mixed. They tend to ship items individually in unpadded plastic bags. I've had a few very cracked cases. And customer service is mixed. I've gone back and forth twice, I believe, on getting a replacement sent.

I’ve had a few Steelbooks arrive damaged. They sent me replacements without having to send the damaged ones back. Other than that I’ve had no problems with them.

Let's just say their packing is as good as Amazon and their customer service is comparable as well.

The problem with Rescue Rangers and the correct air-date order is the show had a short preview season on Disney Channel before officially launching in syndication. So are we going from "Batteries Not Included," which was the first episode ever aired in late 1988 (Disney doesn't even count this as the anniversary), the episodes that aired in the spring on 1989 or the syndicated airings in the Fall of 1989, which launched with the pilot TV movie?

One of the things I wanted to do before I lost interest/ ran out of time to work on such things was try to track down old TV Guides from that era to piece together the correct air-dates for the DA shows. I barely started on that task before I stopped as other things in life got in the way. However, from my brief experience, it didn't seem like the TV Guide noted episode titles for these shows.

I agree with most sentiments I've read on the issue however. Except for the pilot, the order doesn't matter so much for this specific show. Shows like DuckTales and TaleSpin it maters more, Aladdin and Gargoyles it matters the most.

If you're US based, expect slow shipping as their shipments have to go through customs first.

Well this is BS, Zavvi US does not have the option to ship to Australia... and Zavvi AU's price is jacked up ridiculously high (A$94.99 vs A$67.99).
