We're excited to announce that "Howard's End [Blu-ray]" is the winning title and will be released from the Criterion Collection later this year. Why wait? You can pre-order "Howard's End- Criterion Collection [Blu-ray]" from Amazon.com today.

No date yet but my guess is that this is a August/September title. My vote was Kwaidan

Yeah that pre-order link has been up for about a week now. My vote was for Au Revoir Les Enfants.

DVDBeaver comparison of the 2009 Criterion 2-disc DVD, the Tartan Blu-ray, and the Criterion Blu-ray.

I can't believe the print is missing 'Det' ('The') in the title on the Criterion DVD and Blu-ray as well. I really hope there is a plausible explanation, as the title is now off-center.

Hmmm. Picture Bergman with napalm, lots of it, and less words and talent...wait for it...this is going to be good...Michael Bay!

Though as an American Male I am prone to enjoy his movies. Oh and Bergman never had Megan Fox, which is probably a good thing...

He did not need her, he had Birgitta Andersson, way more talented

I think just about everyone that actually BUYS Criterions voted for something else, and then every Joe Blu-Ray Buyer that came across the poll voted for the movie with the people he recognizes.

I mean I literally have seen nobody say they voted for Howards End. It's been all Kwaidan and Les Enfants.

Anybody seen my dinner with andre? wow talk about a conversation!

I saw it 2 years ago when it came on one of the cable channels. i dont know what made me watch it but im gald i did. i love this movie. theres no action or drama going on, instead, what takes place is a very very deep conversation.

DVDbeaver has a reveiw of the Criterion DVD version. they said a bluray version is not planned right now

http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDRev...with_andre.htm

I might have to buy the DVD version on june 23rd.

Yeah that's funny, I said exactly that earlier.

Not exactly happy with that. I think they should have had the poll on their actual website so not every joe-shmoe picked the only movie they've heard about on the list..

Maybe I'm wrong about that but I seriously doubt most of Criterion's actual followers voted for Howard's End.

I figured either 'Au Revoir Les Enfants' or 'Kwaidan' would get it because that's what all the forums were looking like.

Ah, that's a bummer. I bought this for like $15 here in Norway... And as mentioned by Pro-b it has English subs.

And let's not forget Liv Ullmann, which he has a daughter with. Liv also starred in 9 of Bergman's movies.

And she's my favorite Norwegian actress.

Now, when will Playtime make the similar drop?

I had no idea they sold them at that price but anyone who falls for it deserves to pay that much. I mean look at the prices for all of the other Criterions. 400 Blows is $22!

The best time to buy Criterion is when DD has their 20%/25% off sale. Typically DD or their sister company DVD Planet has the lowest price on Criterion anyways, so the percentage off is that much better.

I'm just hoping that the sale run include 6/23 so I can get Last Year at Marienbad for like $20!
