I recently sold all my sets. It was too much money to have sitting on a shelf. If that Russo Brothers "Battle of the Planets" movie gets made, the sets will probably be released again in some form.

I’ve been tempted to grab the old ADV DVD box sets for Gatchaman for that very reason.

yup. hasn't been on there for a while. really wish that it could either be added back onto there again or get a new BD from Sentai considering it's OOP

2022 is Gatchaman's 50th anniversary so it would be a good time for a reissue for those who missed the previous sets.

That's exactly why I refuse to give up the ADV LE sets. Alex Ross was the perfect choice to do the artwork for them! I have them displayed under my office desk actually, lol, besides the BD set which is on another shelf.

Wonder if the deal they made in 2013 expired.

Still missing a couple of those Alex Ross sets, but I do have the Unifive die cast god phoenix (with first run firery phoenix mode), really need to display that. I remember I tried to get all the figures but only got 3 as I think 1 was exclusive to some Best Buy set so I gave up.

It would be nice to get new versions of 2 and fighter as the Sentai dvd releases suffer from extreme interlacing

There is zero possibility that II and Fighter ever get dubs. Also the Blu Ray release for Gatchaman II was quite rough if memory serves.

If Sentai was going to dub II and Fighter, they would’ve done it when they released them on DVD. Never say never (especially with all the older anime getting dubs for the first time), but I’m not holding my breath.

That’s why I said hope sadly yet macross is getting release’s over here and dirty pair is finally getting a dub and lupin season 1 too so who knows.

I am surprised they never did but maybe after dubbing all 105 original gatchaman episodes, the sales were not good and decided to sub the rest. It was crazy they redubbed the series in the 2000s in a pre-streaming world.

Keep in mind the 2000s was the anime DVD bubble. Companies were dubbing everything under the sun thinking it was a good business decision. Dubbing everything was a very costly mistake. Sub-only releases were quite rare back then, it wasn't until the late 2000s after the bubble had popped that sub-only releases became more common.
