I've actually thrown in the towel on this show and so have the 2 real world friends who like me bought the BD's . Just not worth it anymore , high hopes for Brave New Worlds ... finger's crossed .

Like years back when all those people were burning Harry Potter books... but that meant they were buying them in order to burn them lol But yeah, streaming is counted better than broadcast with their Nielsen crap. Everybody that says they hate it but are streaming an episode of this is helping it stay on.

I was just thinking this! I have defended this show for 3 seasons and just finished S4E04 and I’m staring at the wall most of the time. I know covid restrictions were tough in Toronto but there are only like 3 people on the screen at a time and the AR wall stands out bad big time. I really hope the next 3 episodes are better because it seems like the first four are a complete waste.

I found things to enjoy about the first 3 season even bought the BD set's but it's just stopped being fun for me .
Happy for those that still enjoy it but for me it's over .

I have all the BD’s as well. So episode 5 actually good! Anytime they talk Starfleet stuff I’m in but I really don’t want to hear about feelings, once in a while is fine but it seems to be never ending. I have a feeling they might kill off Book, I don’t really understand why he is there and he’s taking up too much screen time.

Well, we don’t know what became of the Dominion, or the Founders in the Great Link. They could have changelings all over the place, and not just in high places. A casino where a varied range of alien species come and go, to gamble, make deals and share secrets doesn’t sound like an altogether unreasonable place to hang out to get a sense of what’s happening out there.

Even if it ran longer than the 7 years of TNG, DS9 and Voyager, they’d have to be running for about 14 years to match their output. It won’t even catch up to TOS and Enterprise at 5 years.

I quite enjoyed the new episode myself. I love me a good high stakes card game, and the focus on characters over action was welcome. This balanced its various story parts nicely and was paced extremely well. Owo is becoming one of my favourite parts of the show.

Fun fact: the alien boss overseeing the bar was played by Daniel Kash (Spunkmeyer from Aliens).

You see how much better the episode is when they concentrate on the story itself and move it along and not navel-gazing of more than half the episode?

But this is just a half season opener so they chuck more into it than normal, I suspect it'll be the usual service next week.

Are we sure it's Odo's species? The effects are similar so probably but there are Chameloids and other shapeshifters in Trek as well.
