Should be the same. The only difference should be the region codes on the discs.

FWIW… clear keepcases (GKIDS/Shout!) vs. blue (Anime Limited/Zavvi).

Still no replacement UE disc yet, might have to email them. It's a bit annoying considering they didn't send out any confirmation or anything.

Mine arrived last Thursday by normal mail. Didn’t get any confirmation or notification apart from the small in-browser acknowledgement on submitting the original replacement form.

Well, looks like Amazon AU did end up getting more collectors editions; got a notification saying mine shipped today even though when I ordered it said it was expected in 1-2 months. So I was not expecting that so soon and am now out $169AUD oop.

So if anyone still wants a collectors edition, Amazon AU is selling them, a lot cheaper than what US an UK were selling them for, for whatever reason. Pretty sure they'll just be the same as the UK ones as we're both region B.

Idk if Amazon AU ships overseas, but I can order stuff from Amazon US and UK through them, so... maybe?

I've simply been burned on waiting for a price decrease or RS holiday sale only to find that something I wanted is no longer available.
US sounds like a bit of a nightmare to me tbh. You get cooler editions than we do, but also stuff like that happens, rip.

You get a lot more variety than us though, so it's probably worth it.

Okay, so Collector's Edition arrived today which was cool

Box was in good condition
[Show spoiler]

When I opened it up though, the BR cases looked like they'd been dragged across the warehouse floor or something. All scratched and dirty...
[Show spoiler]

Was brand new and sealed, bought from Amazon Australia.
This happen to anyone else?

Other than that, discs are fine, no scratches, booklet is fine, art cards are fine. All good. I'm gonna try contact someone to see if I can get those cases replaced, but if not, no real big loss. Really can't be bothered sending it back to Amazon for a replacement.

Madman distributed it here and it was just the UK version. I do find it interesting though, that the info sheet on the back has the Australian Classification bit printed on there (the blue strip, bottom right).
[Show spoiler]

The main rating bit on the front (now removed) was a sticker outside the plastic wrap. Media (games, blurays, etc.) need to have the Australian age classification visible here in Australia, so imports usually just get them put on as stickers.
This is definitely the UK version, but I'm wondering was this info sheet printed specifically for the Australian imports? Or were they on the UK local ones too?

I found an eBay picture of the rear of the UK 5-disc release, and it is remarkably similar to yours except that it has a BBFC logo on the back instead of one from the Australian Classification Board. As such, I would presume that it was a specially printed sheet for the Aussie copies to meet legal requirements.

Think that link's broken, but I went to look on ebay myself and see what you mean. That's pretty interesting. Slightly different barcode and product code too. Never seen a company print stuff specifically for somewhere they don't sell. Madman have distributed some of their other special editions here and I don't remember seeing anything like this before. I could've just missed it though.

Based on the packaging of the Ultimate Edition, it seems that Anime Limited (UK) was running point for all three English-language licensees when it came to its packaging. It wouldn't be unreasonable to suspect that Madman engaged AL to do the same for their Limited Collector's Edition release as well, and it would also explain why those discs have BBFC logos on the disc art and a back sheet that's almost identical except for the necessary local ratings logo.

With that said, I suspect that Manga is doing their own logistics with the standard 5-disc set, as evidenced by their replacement Disc 05 looking completely different that those from the UE/LCE release. My bet is that all the discs in the 5-disc Aussie release will appear as such, but we won't find out for another week when it hits store shelves.

Yeah, ATA were the first to announce the Eva blurays, so I always assumed the whole thing was mainly their doing. I do think it's weird they didn't do the same thing with the CE box that they did with the UE and just put all 3 company logos on it. I assume they're all pretty much the same? The AU one has the ATA logo and no Madman logo, US just has Gkids, that's gotta be the only difference right?

And yeah, Madman (I assume you meant them, you said Manga ) usually author most their own discs, though the past few years, with them being bought by Sony or whoever, if Funimation has a show that Madman puts out, they just import the American release here and slap the AU classification sticker on, which I'm not really a fan of. Especially snice most Funi releases have cardboard sleeves and the stickers get put right on those, so when you peel them off, they get damaged >
But also because it's just kinda sad watching the Australian anime industry shrink

I think the Au design of the discs look way better though tbh, just having them all solid blue is kind of boring to me.
I've got the Ultimate and Collectors Editions now... part of me is just saying get the standard release too when that comes out... $90 though

Madman is really upcharging you guys, damn. The exchange rate between AUD and CAD is only a few cents short if being 1:1, yet Gkids is only charging 44$ for their standard set in Canada. That's ridiculous.

Dude I got no idea how they're pricing these things. I imported the Ultimate Edition from the UK, so I saved money there, but for whatever reason the AU version just didn't get the special preorder price that everywhere else got. With exchange rate and everything, the AU version was like $200aud more than what I paid importing from the UK, including shipping.
The standard edition is $89.95 here, on Amazon the US version is $70 and the UK version is $99, so we're like in the middle there. It'll be on sale eventually though, so can probably get it for like $60-70, so not bad.

Our Collector's Edition is way cheaper though and Idk why. RRP is $169, was $155 at some places, but I missed that. Looking at Rightstuf, the US version is $174.98US, which is like $240 here. On zavvi, the UK one was A$234.99.
Wonder why ours was so much cheaper.

Finally got my replacement discs yesterday, but 03 and 08 were still scratched. Better 2 than 9 I guess. I replied to the email, they're asking for pictures again lol

If it had been just disc 03 or another in the Netflix dub set then I'd have just overlooked it but I bought it for the classic dub.

Do the Collector's Editions (not the Ultimate Editions) have problems with the scratched discs?
And how are their disc cases? Do they have disc stacking or not?

None of my collector's edition discs were scratched and there's no stacking. 2 cases hold 5 discs each: 1 disc on on the back and 2 of the flippy things in the middle with a disc either side each. Then there's another case which just has disc 11. Mine was the AlltheAnime version.
