The whole idea of it being a D+ series would probably have been a non-starter for Kevin Feige, but, in any case, it would have deprived us fans of some really mind-blowing use of IMAX, which as absolutely spectacular.

Unfortunately that part of it won't translate well to home viewing, but those of us who watched it in theaters (sometimes multiple times) know just how spectacular that looked, and how lucky we were that it was truly made to take full advantage of that medium.

And honestly, I'm okay with it. We all have those movies we protect.

At least he's not irrational or completely bonkers about it like some, even on this forum (won't name names but we all have come across them).

I will say that the trailers made it look pretty epic, which is why I caught it in theaters (Dolby Cinema is my preferred choice).

Once I know it was only going to be in the premium screens for two weeks, I knew I had to watch it as many times as I could in IMAX, Dolby and 4DX...

I’m fine with that.

I waited to watch on Disney + and I’m glad I did.

But I did buy the Blu-ray Disc only from eBay just to satisfy my Marvel OCD and I wanted to watch it again on disc. I’ll buy the full package if the 4K goes to $10 knowing it will take a long time as it’s a Disney release.

It’s not a great movie but it is Marvel.

Exactly... I have all the rest of the movies on disc, don't want to buck the trend now!

It wasn't bad enough for me to refuse to complete the set. There have been times that's been the case. Dexter Season 8 comes to mind. Couldn't buy it. Nope. Still haven't. Seasons 1 through 7 sit on my shelf without the final (at least of the original series) season.

Same with me. I like to finish what I start, even if its painful. (lookin' at you, Game Of Thrones)
Although, like Roland Orzabal says....there is a Tipping Point....I just ditched my entire Star Trek Discovery collection...thats painful for a Trekker.

Oh man, GoT, that's a sore spot that I waffled back and forth on. I ended up completing the series despite that letdown of last season overall. There were cool aspects though, so it wasn't horrible. I just look at Dexter S8 and think What in the actual eff?! Even nearly a decade later...

Eternals is in a similar vein as GoT. As much as I have harped on Eternals, there are aspects were not too shabby.

I rag on Eternals too...even though I liked it better than the more recent MCU movies and give it credit for trying something different.
I believe Marvel is going off the rails with this multiverse stuff....jumping a shark that even The Fonz would swerve around.

*Anyway...* I'm late to the party but just saw it for the first time tonight. Absolutely loved it. Very different from the MCU, but still feels like a part of it. And the cinematography was so well done.

I loved ETERNALS. Saw it in the Dolby Cinema on release day and have some friends coming over to watch the 4K tomorrow night. I plan on enjoying it once again.

Finally caught up with this film Saturday night. Despite one of my friends warning me not to touch it with a long pole, and going in with low expectations, I really dug it. My two teenagers didn't care for it though, for many of the reasons that have been (exhaustively) stated here already. I'm just relieved to not feel any personal regrets adding the BB SteelBook to my collection. In fact, I'd choose to watch it again ahead of most of the other MCU entries. So there you go.

I really enjoyed this. Don't know why it has the RT score that it has. I will say this is one of the few times where I can really notice the difference with the DV streaming version vs the HDR disc version. The biggest offender is in the beginning with everyone donning their armor and Ikaris and Sersi's conversation as they look at the Earth. On the disc the entire scene is just a murky mess, whereas in the DV version the darkness and shadows are presented a helluva lot better, and I can actually see the details. No matter what settings I tweak with the disc, I can't get it to match the clarity of the DV version at all in that scene.

This is only vaguely related to Eternals, but it's the most recent/active MCU thread so I figured I'd ask here: Are all the extras from the physical MCU releases also available on Disney plus? even the commentaries?

No, the last time I checked, the D+ still didn't have any extras under the movie itself, although they added an episode of Assembled that focuses on this movie, and there is a bit of overlap with the extras on the disc. But the audio commentary is only on disc, at least right now.

What about the other movies, for example, is the Joss Whedon commentary available for the first Avengers? I remember it being only on the US disc.
