For the first time, I'm actually holding off on reading the books. The biggest draw for me is (my perceived) unpredictability of the series. If I read the books- poof, there it goes...

I'm gonna agree with Grevlin. My wife has read them and she's always trying to give stuff away. The way each episode ends with a cliffhanger would kinda be ruined for me. It's what makes me wanna tune in next week.
So your telling me she's this annoying in the books? Making out with Sam one second, storming off the next. Telling Bill to get lost one episode, pissed off that he's gone the next. Same thing with her relationship with Jason, Arlene, and Tara. I understand she's playing a part, and with everything on her plate she'd be a little schizo, but geez, how can you root for her when you kinda wanna see her get it? Maybe my problem is with the way the director/creator is presenting her if the books do a better job of getting empathy from the reader.

Yeah, the scene when she is in her car and it won't start comes to mind. (Rene cut the wires.)

I'm paraphrasing but it was something like... "GOSHDARNIT... JEEZ LOUISE... F...F...FUDGE IT ALL!"

I mean really, that's a lil over the top. I don't know anyone that talks like that, and I even know a few people that go to church... during sunlight hours!

I thought of that scene as well. They're trying too hard to make her seem wholesome, so we'll all feel bad for her and it comes off a little forced. She is banging a vampire afterall and cock teasing Sam every third episode. I mean they could've just had her beat the steering wheel up and throw some tapes around in her car. We get it, she's pissed. She has every right to be upset and out of sorts. I just think moments like that lose a little bit of their edge. That dialogue takes me right out of the scene.

I think Sookie is going to get a little bit dirtier in the next season. I hope she does not loose her "character" - the stuff that makes her, her. However, I think some foul language might be in store.

If not, I still like her

Well, True Blood will be starting in less than two weeks, and I for one am PUMPED, I just finished the first season up and have to say I was hooked from episode one. Well anyways, I think people who like the show and will be watching the second season should all come together in this thread to discuss the show, theories, anything like that.

Every week last year I waited with anticipation for the next episode. At times though I thought the series was ok...other times I thought it was excellent. But one thing's for sure, I'm looking forward to seeing season 2. That's one of the few shows I DVR, along with Dexter.

Oh yeah!!! Pretty much planning my whole day around this event. I'm gonna wear out my kids by taking them swimming and fishing in the Texas heat all day, so they'll be out like lights for the 10:00pm rerun. I wanna be able to crank the volume.
