Default Is Amazon getting slower?

I hate to b!tch cuz I love Amazon, but they sure have slowed down with their shipping it seems. It used to be I would order something from Amazon with the free shipping and it would be to my house within a week. Now it's taking 4-5 days just to ship, goes to Fed ex, then to Denver, then sits around for another week waiting for the USPS to ship it to my door. It's routinely taking over 2 weeks to get an order any more. Anyone else notice this? It sure seems like a convoluted way to ship stuff.

Yeah I'm pretty upset about it myself, especially when I PAY for shipping(well the cheap kind) and it still takes forever. Getting to the point where I may consider that free trial of Amazon Prime just to get my stuff faster.

i ordered some PC gaming headsets recently and expected them to arrive in 2-5 days max like the normal free shipping that i've been used to the last few years. i got it 4 weeks later. i have no clue why it takes them that long to actually "ship" the product. its a fairly common product too so i figured after i place the order they would pack it up in a box and send it on its way. it took them a month to pack it in a box?

im having second thoughts about anything i buy from amazon from now on and i absolutely love amazon. i think the btching is appropriate OP.

Nope. Prime member here, two days always. Sometimes one day depending from where it ships.

Sign up for Amazon Prime, I promise you that you'll never again have to worry about shipments taking too long to get to you. Amazon Prime is a fantastic membership.

Makes you think they've slowed down normal shipping in an under-handed attempt to get more people to switch to Prime...

I'm not a Prime member, but my shipments always arrive very quickly. Perhaps I live near some sort of shipment hub or something. I'm very happy with Amazon, but I'm also a bit of an Amazon novice. Consider myself jinxed.

Wouldn't surprise me. Prime is a great deal if you order alot from Amazon. Works well for bigger items too that qualify.

I almost always select Free Shipping and yes, I do think it has slowed down quite a bit over the past few months...

I've speculated that for over a year now. But Prime is a good deal if you order often from them.

I love Prime. It's amazing what you can get with Prime, not just entertainment.
I buy toothpaste, deodorant, coffee, stuff for my nephews.
All kinds of crap.

Mostly I just order blurays from Amazon. I usually use the Marketplace because it is so much cheaper, but on occasion Amazon has the movie the cheapest, but man does it take forever to get here anymore. Don't know if paying for prime would help me out all that much with the occasional order.

You could always try the 30 day free trial. I'm usual ordering a few times a month so its a good deal for me.

I was a prime member, but dropped it last October when it expired. It wasn't worth it to me to pay $80. It was worth it to Amazon because I found that I was ordering more and would buy BDs that I really wouldn't have otherwise. Besides, it was almost always taking three days to get it, not two, which was only one day less than the free shipping without paying for prime shipping.
But now, yes, I have noticed that it takes them longer to ship stuff out with just the free standard shipping, sometimes two days after an item is released. They really want people to purchase the prime membership.

thats funny what you order....lol

========

on topic: i dont notice any longer to get my stuff.
they usually ship out the NEXT business day and with free shipping i get my stuff within 3-5 days.
i am NOT an amazon prime member, though i did use my 30 days when i ordered my onkyo 806.
2.99 and it was here in 2 days was a good deal for me as i was super anxious to get it.

if you REALLY want something faster, then pay for faster shipping.
if not, then go to the local store, pay much higer prices AND pay tax.
for savings, i can wait to receive my items and not complain.

I've never had a problem with my Prime 2 day/ 1 day shipping. Sometimes I even my 2 day orders in 1 day. Everytime I two day diapers I get them in one day, literally every time

Amazon throttles free shipping for long-time customers who have made many orders in the past. Someone that regularly orders from Amazon with the free shipping option will notice increased shipping times after some number of orders.
