This is the much more entertaining film of the two and I’ll die on that hill lol
Maybe we’ll see a 4K for the 45th <\3 |

yea this is bad but if you like Grease enough i think its worth a watch. this one went into more comedy mode though compared to the first. so ridiculous but you have to laugh at some of it. especially seeing Shooter McGavin in his early days. do it for your country.

The artwork would be more appealing if it was a regular photograph instead of that filter; but it does match the Steelbook for the first film.
I have the Steelbook trilogy and I enjoy the sequel enough. Hard to go wrong with Michelle Pfeiffer and Maxwell Caulfield as the two leads. |

I got the Trilogy Steelbook too and think that's good enough. I replaced the first one with the 4K disc from the standard release. I'm totally fine with that being the forever case for Grease. I don't see myself upgrading Grease 2 or the Live version to 4K unless they were super cheap. |

I honestly don't think this movie is as bad as its reputation suggests. Yes, it's basically a rehash of the first film -- this time with reversed gender roles -- but it has some great songs, and "Reproduction" is one of the best songs to come out of the franchise. The choreography is also still really good in a lot of the numbers (the choreographer for the first film, Patricia Birch, was the director this time around): the opening is fantastic ("Back to School Again"), the bowling alley ("We're Gonna Score Tonight"), the biology class ("Reproduction"), etc.
I do think it has its flaws, it lacks a bit of the energy that the first film had and the climax isn't as effective. However, I think the movie (for the most part) was fairly well-cast and the songs in it are a lot of fun. It's a step down from the original, but it's nowhere near the trainwreck people make it out to be. It has really good production value, all things considered. ~Matt |
