I appreciate your concern with Amazon though sometimes the UHD discs say Blu Ray in the description and makes ya wonder what you will get.

Wow, Vilya, nice new Avatar
Thank you for noticing my avatar. All of my avatars have been taken from drawings made by my late brother. He passed away 25 years ago. He liked poking fun at my movie and home theater hobbies even way back then; it's me that he is parodying in that picture (although I've never smoked). I miss him very much.

Multichannel SACDs - They have remastered many of the quadraphonic albums from the 1970s, the Sony BDP-S6700 will output the multichannel digital audio thru HDMI (I use a Pioneer VSX-534 to decode the MCH SACD via HDMI).

I remember asking the same, it’s a nice story for sure.

Deep Discount came in for the save.

Ordered:

Godfather Trilogy 4K
American Werewolf in London 4K
La LLorona BD (silent film)
Phantom of the Monastery BD (silent film)

Used a 10% off coupon code and free shipping. Total was $138 shipped with sales tax. Those are some big savings, because outside of AWIL, the other three sets are priced much higher on Amazon. AWIL is $2 more expensive at DD, but are offset by the huge savings of the Godfather. If memory serves me correctly, most 4K box sets have always been much cheaper at DD than anywhere else. I have the Resident Evil collection and Indiana Jones 4K sets and those were way less than Amazon by a lot.

CHESHIRE is the 10% off code over at Deep Discount should you be so inclined to order media products and such.

Tuesday night watched the UHD BD of Godzilla vs Kong, last night watched the UHD BD of Dune (2021). Today, thinking we may need to check for broken dishes and check for structural damage.

Glad you made time for Godzilla vs Kong.

Love that movie and yet .... no one ever has watched it with me.

Some people just can't get into big monster movies. Well, their loss.

I watched Adam Project last night and it was a lot of fun and full of heart. The 4K DV/Atmos was fantastic.

One thing I have noticed is Disney plus has totally cratered the Disney film market. Its great if you wanna buy films but pretty awful for selling them.

The end game is they don't want anyone watching them without paying by the minute. (Also known as subscription.)

On the one hand it's probably the only subscription service worth having. On the other, knowing I have it keeps me from buying Disney movies.

Disney is greedy enough to add mature content now really making the service less desirable to parents who just want an electric babysitter.

I'm glad Netflix is getting extra greedy with new charges if people watch outside of the home. I've already cut to the minimum sub and as soon as they nag my kids who are away at school but still part of the household I will be happy to drop them.

Oh I wouldn’t say that, your still dealing with the 18-20 MBPs peak for 4K streaming. If you have a favorite title that highlights 4K res with HDR10 or DV it will be quite a step up on those titles.

BTW since Netflix titles ported were hidden, you have go into profile and change your level from TV-14 to TV-MA in the states.

I bought/preordered these titles this week.

The French and German versions of Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard are 17 minutes longer than the US release. I prefer the art on the French steelbook too.

What I was talking about was the price of disney films and the price people are selling used copies at on the second hand market. I could buy the original star wars trilogy for 1.72 plus shipping. Disney films used to have a sometimes negative depreciation of value. Its kind of making me miss the vault since I cant really sell movies after i upgrade these days.

I was never a seller (I just find it is more trouble then it is worth for me personally). But yeah the Vault used to make them more valuable over time (until a re-release). But I get what you are saying at this point in time the assumption is pay X for Disney+ a month and you can watch all the Disney films you want when you want.

for anyone that does not know what you are talking about

https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-a...sword-sharing/

1) it is starting off in South America not here yet
2) Assuming someone was abiding by the rules this is not a new charge. Technically if households A and B both had a plan they would be paying more than if A has a plan and B is now a sub account. I think this is the carrot there to try and push up adoption in those countries.
3) Don't get me wrong I am assuming a stick will come with that carrot (i.e. if A and B are now sharing they will try and make it harder to do so and force them to to co-accounts)

I've been making all kinds of changes to my dadcave lately..
Clips from DUNE and BLADERUNNER 2049 have been playing endlessly over the last few days as I measure the real world effect of each improvement.... nothing will help you isolate rattles like these 2 films.

I spent Thursday building out a new 135 inch 2.40:1 screen out of spandex. After everything was recalibrated ( even audio as my speakers are now behind the screen), the first title we watched was THE ADAM PROJECT... It was glorious on the new screen and the ATMOS track was pretty cool. It was nice to have the dialogue come from the center of the screen!

I placed my largest order of the year today and I have these items coming:

I haven't been doing my part to support physical media lately; I had to step it up a little. Placing a big order made life feel like normal again.

That’s an impressive haul.

Just Dawn Of The Dead remake (Blu-ray) for me this week.
