Of course, there are going to be the oddball movies that just never will get released but by and large almost every film will get a Blu-ray release. Think of it like this, Blu-ray is the greatest format we have ever seen, almost all films are going to be in that format.
I would disagree with this only because of the cost to restore or transfer films to blu. If the films did not fare well on DVD, it would be hard for me to believe that studios would spend loads of funds to transfer it to blu.

I wish you are right.
I saw this three films, in the early seventies, projected in Cinerama theaters in Barcelona and looked and sounded amazing. All this three films would be outstanding on BD.

I would also like to see a US release of The Island with lossless audio. The lack of lossless audio is the only reason I haven't bought an import.

Also, specifically what films do you addore, that you know will probably never make it to Blu-ray.

I figured this might help us all vent a little of our frustration and maybe throw up some interesting titles as I know a lot of you guys are serious film buffs and many of you are a little disappointed with the current releases.

Can I also ask, please Blu-ray.com, can we have embede youtube video's enabled on these forums, Pleeeease! I guess for now we'll just have to post links, can you also post links of your chosen titles if poss?

Swiss Family Robinson! A great Disney classic (One of the best non-animated movies they've made)

'Time Bandits', 'How to Irritate People', the TV docu-drama 'George Washington' (with Barry Bostwick as GW), and the British TV series 'Ripping Yarns'. The last three haven't even made it to DVD, and I can't get copies of any of them anywhere, in any format, other than 'Time Bandits', which is on DVD. These are must-haves for me, even if I have to do the transfer myself.

Yeah, but that's one of things I like about the film. It's not your typical teeny bopper happy go lucky movie. It deals with real issues in a real way. Plus, it has some hilarious parts and the music is fantastic.

I remember seeing that when I was a kid. Eric Stoltz looked like he should be carrot tops brother.

I think everything, in due time, will be out on BD. That being said:

1) It might just be a DVD-rip slapped onto a BD, without any sort of proper restoration, made to cash in on the people who feel a need to buy everything on BD, regardless of how crappy an upgrade it may be.

or

2) It may be a sort of bootleg BD made in China, once BD-r prices start to go down (the same way you can find tons of fake DVDs online on eBay... I noticed a ton when looking for Disney and Charlie Chaplin movies).

Universal released Streets of Fire when they were HD exclusive. I would love to see a Blu-ray version , but I can't see them bothering.

The Toxic Avenger - or any of those Troma classics, for that matter. They were probably filmed on ugly video anyway, but I'd love some HD stupidity to throw onto my samsung.
