Not all talented gorgeous celebrities make it. Celebrities like Rob Schneider are proof you CAN be ugly and lack talent and still have a decent career. Shia is not that talented but he does star in a lot of blockbusters.

they aren't blockbusters because of him, though. Maybe thats whats depressing him. Like he had a moment of clarity and realized that he's one of the most vanilla actors in all of Hollywood, and he's having a hard time coming to grips with that fact.

+1. The guy's had a rough time growing up and from what I remember reading about his childhood, had to grow up pretty quick. If I was him, I would take a long break from movies...I'm sure he has the money to do so. Otherwise, he could be heading toward burnout or a major breakdown.

The only reason Rob Schneider is where he's at is because he rode Adam Sandler's coat tails all the way there.

Robert Downey Jr. has said the same thing in an earlier stage of his career, that all actors are really just con men, working a hustle - a lucrative hustle, but still a hustle - and that "talent" is overrated in the business.

I don't know, I don't think Shia is a great actor or anything, but he's funny and entertaining enough, and he did a decent job in the first Transformers so more power to him.

I would love to be in his shoes right now, working in Hollywood and appearing in film. I obviously wouldn't want the "alcoholic" part of his life that he apparently has, but starring in movies has got to be a good rush (unless you are just going through the motions, which is a pity)

A person can make tons of money and still see their career as meaningless and un-satisfying.
