Samsung announced their QD-OLED: https://news.samsung.com/us/samsung-...led-8k-models/

Quote:
Samsung OLED

Furthering the concept behind “screens everywhere, screens for all,” Samsung expands its 2022 portfolio with the introduction of Samsung OLED (S95B), giving viewers even more choices to customize the technology suited to their needs and preferences.

Samsung OLED brings together the cutting edge performance of the Neural Quantum Processor 4K and the intelligent experiences of the Tizen platform with the incredible sound experiences of Samsung Object Tracking Sound and Q-Symphony- with Dolby Atmos. All wrapped up in a LaserSlim design.

Powered by the Neural Quantum Processor 4K that is built into Samsung’s flagship Neo QLED 8K and 4K models, the S95 also features an OLED brightness booster and perceptional color mapping to deliver brighter, more accurate highlights and the most realistic, lifelike colors.

The new Samsung OLED goes beyond just panel technology for a screen experience well beyond what has been available from OLED TVs to date and is yet another option for consumers to customize their experiences.

The S95B is available for pre-order today in 55” and 65” sizes.

This Friday, March 25th we'll have LG's 2022 77" G2 Gallery OLED TVs in our store. We'll be the first retailer in the US with LG's G2 on display and in stock.

Do these have a silver bezel? Silver edge or black?

LG's US C2PUA has a kind of matt grey "silverish" finish for the edge of the bezel frame. (I made up that word "silverish" as it best describes the 2022 C2 edge treatment that LG finished the new eco friendly and light weight frame that supports the TV)

The front of the TV's bezel frame is all black and its 1/2 of the width of last year's bezel. When the TV is on it's all image and you don't even notice the very thin all black bezel edge.

Every element of the C2 is beautifully designed and very modern and minimalists. Hope to see some of our Blu-Ray.com friends visit our showroom so we can demonstrate the many advancement in these bleeding edge emissive digital video displays.

Thank you so much for the in-depth explanation.

C2 / G2 or A90J all in 83" is on my radar. I will buy one of these.
I have to give up my theatre. We are moving.
Instead of having a room I will now have a wall.
My plan is to build a kick-ass two channel system with one of these displays between the speakers.

Sorry to hear. That's quite a step down in the audio department.

It sure is.
However I've had my time. I've had a state of the art home theatre since 1998.
I am going to attach a top tier head phone system as well. With a $3K DAC and a $2K headphone amp. So I will only be slightly slumming it on sound.

If I was spending that kind of coin, I'd opt for a Smyth Realizer and get decent surround in headphones. If you're not familiar with that product, do a search at quadraphonicquad.com, the net's best site for all things multichannel.

Samsung might have a problem with its new OLED TV's sub-pixels

Do Samsung Display’s QD-OLED sub-pixels cause color issues? It sure looks like it

Nice!

Btw B&H posted a pre-order link for the 97G2 with a $30k price which is hopefully just a placeholder...

Sam, no sales pitch here, but with regards to microLED are you inclined to favor the engineering pathway pursued by Samsung Displays Corp. or that of Samsung Visual Display? If unfamiliar with the technical specifics of each approach, send me a PM.

Salty, check you PMs at your other site.
