HP will always be worth the time, but FB has been a letdown IMO. &WTFT was decent, but then the 2nd is just rehashing the same wizard vs wizard war that we got in HP, and not done nearly as well. I'd have rather them actually keep the movie about the beasts, because why else did they decide to call it that?

I don't see why studios do this, it's just wasting production materials when there's going to be two more films. They should just wait.

First two are fantastic and TSoD looks brilliant as well (word from screenings is it's the best of the three). This one's shot anamorphically on the Alexa LF by the way.

Originally i tough it was about newt writing his beasts book or even scenes/backround stuff him taking notes, studying and writing the book... But now dumbledore life is the main thing :/ which is super cool but maybe they should have focused on one...

+1. I sold the first two FB UHDs because I found them so lifeless (they looked good, though). I'll watch this new installment, but I won't be buying it.

It definitely feels like there wasn't a real plan when it began. The first movie really focused on them but the second just kind of moved them to the side and now the third looks to have even less to do with them.

I just hope that the third one is better as I've always found this part of the HP history fascinating and would love to see that legendary duel play out on screen with the last one.

&WTFT was definitely more creature based, with some human drama sprinkled in, but the 2nd took a SHARP turn into the Grindelwald stuff with the 2nd movie... which ultimately isn't the problem. The problem is that JK Rowling was basically like
[Show spoiler]oh everybody loved HP vs Voldemort so I'll just rehash the relevant details I've already given in the HP series and needlessly draw it out into 5 movies using the same evil wizard vs good wizard war plot device. But it's just not been as good as HP and never will live up to it.
If that's the route she wanted to take, then still calling this Fantastic Beasts is misleading. WB should have dropped that as a franchise name just went by the 2nd title instead. I was more interested in the creatures than the direction they've decided to go in.

I forgot this was even coming out honestly, it's been so long due to COVID. I'll still watch it because I'm invested but I'm not expecting it to be great like I used to. They really need to get 4 and 5 out asap, but they haven't even started writing 4th yet apparently?

I'm definitely not as excited as I once was due to the last one and like you will go to it because I'm invested.

I believe she's been busy writing. She released another Robert G. novel last year and another is scheduled to come out later this year.

I never understood Crimes' extended cut nonsense. It was deleted scenes put back into the movie but only for the digital version?

I rarely go for steelbooks, but I really like the design for this movie.

Got my preorder ready for this movie, looking forward to it.
