Keep an eye on it the day before/of/right after release the people who canceled orders, sent back, never picked up will start to show up should be some moments during that week to grab.

I'm really not as excited for this release after seeing that Sony won't release the 3D version somewhere in the world. If they released the 3D I'd be paying upwards of 100 for it, but no 3D then it's not worth it.

I love the artwork, but I am a bit disappointed that the steelbook appears to have a matte finish.

I was hoping for a glossy finish myself. Oh well! It is what it is.

I believe Homecoming was matte too, but Far From Home was glossy if I recall correctly.

the going in and out of stock, coming soon, not available is not uncommon and is what cyclorama was pointing out earlier in the thread. this is how it goes and has been going with popular titles the past year or so.
Also, it is unlikely that store will be flooded with popular titles. Again, for the past year or so a bulk of everything for popular titles are sold via preorder and the store may have 2-3 to put on the shelves.
Best bet is to wait until 10p PST the night before release to order for in store pickup or they may be available for shipping a day or two after release.

Has anyone gotten any shipping soon notice?

I used to get steelbook pre-orders shipped in the later part of the week prior to a Tuesday release. They were often shipped in a box. For the past couple of releases, I got them shipped from a BB store just the day before release, often in a bubble mailer.

I got a notification to check my payment info. I haven’t been doing too well on early shipping lately though so usually get them on release day now, when it used to be Monday at the latest.

Ironically I’m unable to make changes to my Heavy Metal order because it’s “ready for packaging” despite not coming out until 4/19, but no movement on this one.

yes, it will be equal parts entertainingly hilarious and insufferable

People will panic, talk about ebay, scalpers, overpaying right away on ebay. Then a day or two after release a small amount may be available for shipping, people will complain they overpaid or brag that they're glad they waited. Then back to the complaining about how Sony and Best Buy should've predicted this and made more.
Theeeeennnnn .... because its Sony there will likely be another print run 6 months to a year from now or a new shiny box set with all Sony Spidey movies, with people complaining about a new release or gloating they're glad they waited, missed on this.
