Watched all 3 episodes. It's OK, but that's about as far as I'd go. The way the trailer is cut makes it out to be some kind of exciting thriller with plenty of action. It's not that at all. If you go in expecting a drama, I imagine you'll enjoy it more.
Mann's episode - like most of his work since he discovered digital cameras - looks like it was shot on a camcorder. Given he was such an early adopter of the format, you'd think he'd have learned how to use it properly by now. Elgort's terrible, smug, & as punchable as ever, but the rest of the cast is very good, especially Ken Watanabe & Rinko Kikuchi. Rachel Keller reminded me a lot of Katee Sackhoff. I'll give it a couple more episodes, but it needs to do something interesting to grab me soon. BTW, did I miss a title card at the beginning saying when this is set? It's clearly not today, but if there were any mentions of a date, I didn't catch them. |
