I've been going through my collection and I noticed that I have replacement discs for both The Outer Limits and Madhouse in a separate case. Problem is I don't remember if I swapped for the good discs or not in the sets. How do I know which ones are the good discs for both these movies? Thank you.

I never knew Porky's II and Revenge were released on Blu-ray. Was going to place a single order but it's actually a bit cheaper from Amazon.

I'm down for any and all Bing if and/or when Kino licenses some more. I understand he's probably not as big a seller as his buddy Bob (whose films I will also buy all of from Kino) but there's a lot of good stuff in that Bing back catalogue - Rhythm on the River, College Humor, Here Come the Waves, A Connecticut Yankee, etc.

Good thing I picked this up about a year ago! Solid film! And I'm a huge Miriam Hopkins fan so that's the main reason I got it!

We picked up the ones they had HD masters for, they don't have the needed film elements for the five titles above, otherwise we would've released The Great Lover.
Damn shame, I'd have bought all five (even though "Cancel My Reservation" was rather abysmal...) Is it possible those elements might one day surface or is it reasonable to assume they're forever in a celluloid graveyard?

Wonder if this fits. There are 7 BD that are not new to BD from the 80s. Jean De Florette/Manon of the Spring would be a nice surprise for a new updated US release. This has been released by Shout in 2015 (OOP since June 2020) and the French release by Pathe with a 4K restoration in 2017. I’d love it if it were part of this package. Not hopeful, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Those two films are said to be with Criterion.

Anyone ever find Kino titles at Best Buy? I watched a recent Youtube video where someone was filming as they shopped and there was a Kino BD on the shelf. They also had RoboCop UHD chipboard, which I was genuinely surprised by. Would be cool to walk into a brick and mortar and buy boutique label titles again

Just one so far, The Silence of the Lambs 4K/Blu set. Every now and again I'll see a Shout/Scream Factory title there. The local one by me now only has one row of Blu-rays and they tend to go toward mainstream stuff.

Over in the BB Deals thread it's been very doomsday, so I'd expect less titles on the shelves, not more.

It appears that I am really spoiled here in the Midwest. After many years of not shopping in store I have discovered the B&M chain called “Vintage Stock”. They have locations all over the Midwest and they carry tons of boutique releases, so I guess that’s an indication that they sell. The location that I frequent is in Topeka, KS, and there I find lots of new and past releases from Kino, Vinegar Syndrome, Shout Factory, Synapse, etc. I see lots of copies with slipcovers, and the prices are not terrible considering that you get the instant gratification. I really love the place. Lots of used Blu-rays and DVDs too, and they frequently have sales on used stuff.

I'm with you. I'd buy all of them as well, including Cancel My Reservation which has a sort of oddball out of time, out of place quality to it that I just love. Basically Bob too old to be doing this but it's still fun as hell because it's Bob But honestly Kino was right to hold off on releasing any more of these because from what I've seen of some of these on DVD, the elements used are NOT acceptable at all.

I'm fortunate enough to live within 45 minutes of the flagship Vintage Stock in Joplin, Missouri. The amount of stock in the store is unreal ... it's easy to spend up to three hours just to shop the blu-ray offerings. They also carry a huge selection of used CDs, vinyl, books, games, and electronics. The store is so large they have two entrances, and two sets of registers. Taking the time to look closely is really beneficial since there's so much stuff and shoppers tend not to put stuff back in alphabetical order. Funny thing is, with all that inventory, I rarely find any Kino titles. Perhaps they hold them for website orders.

Vintage Stock also operates a chain of stores named "Entertainment Mart." There's a huge store in Springfield, Missouri. They are exactly the same as Vintage Stock (pricing, labels, discounts) and they run the same sales. I don't find Kino discs among their inventory, either.

This coming weekend all the stores are holding one of their Buy 2, Get 1 Free Sales. Three or four times per year they have Buy 1, Get 1 Free sales. That said, Kino's in-house sales are always so spectacular that they're virtually unbeatable. I prefer to order directly from them and thereby increase their sales figures and bottom line, so I can support potential future releases from Kino.

You guys are lucky. There used to be a good variety of physical media shops in the NYC area both independent and national chains but they all went belly up. Kim's Video was my favorite in Manhattan. They carried all kinds of stuff, even Warner Archive. Really miss shopping in-store.
