Mine arrived in a box and was in perfect condition. Well, it did have a floater(the UHD disc), but I tested it last night and it played fine.

This release really bothers me. I have the prior 2 Spidey MCU "Home" series steelbook releases, and I wanted this one the most. My expectation was to have a similar experience to (most) Best Buy steelbook releases: a preorder option, or In-Store first thing on release day. Since my many attempts at the preorder were always "Coming Soon" with no option to buy, I expected a decent number of copies to be available in-store, and I'd simply make a quick run to pick one up. Well, I refreshed the website listing on release day itself, and it was SOLD OUT everywhere. WTF?! So I warily went to my local Best Buy anyway, not knowing what to expect and hoping to be relieved and surprised, but sure enough--no copies. I asked an associate and they couldn't track any steelbooks down. There were not even slipcovers on the UHD releases they had. I left the store empty handed and disappointed. At this point, I will wait either for the price to drop on a standard edition, and/or a slightly possible reprint or different steel edition to be released by Sony. Either way, it was a very discouraging experience.

I learned this lesson with Dune & No Way Home, because this was my usual method before, and it never let me down between 2013 and 2021, even for the hard ones like Mad Max, Guardians of the Galaxy, BR2049.

Now, no more. Already preordered The Batman. Not making the same mistake a 3rd time.

Just beware...this thread is filled with comments from many who DID pre-order No Way Home back in December when it was first put on sale who have still not received it and still have no idea if or when they will. I'm still hoping for the best, but I have no intention of ordering anything from Best Buy again. Complete failure on all fronts. Hopefully, that will not be the case for those who preorder Batman.

I ordered mine and 12/23 and received it yesterday, FWIW.

I imagine this is your standard pandemic supply chain issue and more copies are coming. I got my HC and FFH steelbooks like a year ago on Black Friday, this almost certainly wasn’t anyone’s one and only shot at getting this. I doubt it was anyone’s intention to make this version so hard to get.

This is my detailed tracking info...fyi, I ordered in late December.

Hard to say who this is on without knowing what the typical process is. But, if I had to guess this falls on the Postal Service. I can't imagine a scenario where Best Buy physically drops off their shipping orders to the Post Office. Hopefully more of you guys start seeing updates soon.

I'm very concerned for condition as mine has been "delayed" by USPS. I'm fairly certain I am going to get a crushed one now.

Thankfully my Steelbook showed up yesterday in good condition. No thanks to the packing and shipping process.

Like others, they threw it in a box with some of those air bubble things (but not really enough to keep it safe). Plus on one side of the box, the tape was broken. I don't think anyone tried to intentionally open it (since it was still in there and it was easy enough to peak inside and see it), but it looked like maybe something was place on it in transit or something that put uneven weight on it and caused the tape to start to split.

I guess it's better than shipping it in a bubble envelope, but not by much.

Add me to the list with a preorder stuck in pre-shipment in Macon, GA. I preordered back in Jan. I called BB and they also told me not to worry, it's not cancelled, but offered a refund if I wanted it. I didn't want that at the moment since I was afraid accepting a refund would cancel the order, which means I'd lose the lower price from back then and also part of the rewards certificate I used at that time.

The problem for me is I have never received a steelbook in the mail from Best Buy that wasn’t smashed and my morals won’t let me order 15 copies and return 14. So no in store pickup just means no Best Buy steelbooks.

Mine shipped via UPS from the dreaded Shepherdsville, KY distribution center. Showed up in a box around 4:15 yesterday afternoon via UPS. I did pre-order in December at the $29.99 price. I used some reward certificates on the Matrix Resurrections steel on Friday f last week and it arrived yesterday in a bubble mailer via USPS around noon- same distribution center....different packaging. Everything lately is literally a crap shoot.

Just bit the bullet and bought it off the Bay for $75. Not happy about it, but as a Best Buy employee, it’s not looking great for any more coming ever.

Mine was held up. I got a notice saying it should arrive soon...today. Hopefully when I get home. I don't know between the LotR trilogy steelbook I got that was crushed and amazon, they don't take enough care packing these things.

My Ghostbusters set miraculously arrived undamaged and Amazon just stuck that in a paper bag.

Weird you're the only one of us to chime in so far with a positive update. I'm glad you're getting it at least. Also thanks for posting that, gives me some much needed optimism.

I'm also waiting for two from Macon GA that I ordered on 12/23/21 for $29.99. Crazy part is I went ahead and ordered 2 more on Saturday 4/9 When they had them in stock for short time since my cousin was looking for one and begged me to keep an eye out. that order came in yesterday from Macon GA but the one I ordered is still MIA with even Besy Buy reps not knowing what happened to it. So "his" order became my order and I told him his order is delayed lol. No way I'm giving my steelbook up and since I paid for both and he was going to pay me back he will be okay. But weird that it appears Best Buy will fulfill recent orders and not ones from first few days and then it hit me...

I paid $34.99 for each one this weekend and thats what the price was, BUT first few days when these things went up on pre order 12/23-12/27 or so they were for $29.99. I bet Best Buy is not fulfilling them on purpose and then will cancel claiming no inventory.

That is EXACTLY my fear!! I honestly don't even care about the $5 savings. I just want my #@% movie to be delivered to me already!!

FWIW I just talked to a rep and was told this

Okay, from what I can see here in my system, your order is perfect, already went through, the estimate arrival date is 4/14/2022, that's means your order is in transit and it arrive tomorrow between 8am to 6pm.

I asked: Okay, so I'm just not seeing that its been picked up by usps because the system hasnt updated yet?

and was told: Correct, the order is supposed to be update in 3-4 hour and you will receive a confirmation email in 2 hours with all the details of the package please check the spam and the junk folder.

Which sounds like he's talking out of his ass, but I want to believe lol.

UPDATE: I posted the photos above on my Instagram Story last night and tagged Best Buy trying to be petty. Well, they (Best Buy) replied to my Story tag and "Connor" expressed his sincere apologies in how the item was ultimately delivered. A Steelbook collector himself, he completely understood my disappointment and frustration. After gathering some information from me about the order to look into the matter, he confirmed it was indeed sold out and he could not replace it for me so he offered a 50% discount. I accepted, and made sure to voice that I was more disappointed in the lack of standardization when it comes to shipping these Steelbook exclusives (The "Scream 4K" steelbook I pre-ordered arrived last week in a box with air pillows in flawless condition, for example). I asked him to please try and pass my concerns regarding packaging and shipping up the chain to the approrpriate parties if he could and he said he would try.

I'll keep it sealed for now in the off chance one pops up on the website for shipping and if not, I'll just return it.

It might make a good dinner plate if I kept it though.
