I emailed Diabolik to see if they knew anything about the 4k version so I could possibly change my preorder once they list that one.

I was advised that Lionsgate told them they scrapped the UHD and that Amazon has the listing up in error.

Which is honestly exactly what I’ve been expecting, since not a single retailer other than Amazon seems to know anything about it.

Yeah, I was afraid that was the case too. It's weird it was added later on, and with a different release date though. Maybe it was scrapped because A24 are planning a direct shop release.

Malignant has been the only new to video title to get a 4K disc after the Blu-ray release. Every other film has either been on 4K disc, Blu, & DVD or just Blu & DVD day and date.

Most of those examples, while yes are correct, the UHDs released months after though. It's possible for X to get a UHD release down the line, either via A24 Shop exclusive or otherwise, it'll just be a few months instead of two weeks. They might wait to see how it sells on BD first beforehand.

It's weird when 2-4 threads for the exact same release pop-up within a minute of each other. It's like everyone got the same email or FB notification and was like "sh*t I have to run to blu-ray.com and make a thread!!"
