I miss the old days when GPU's were affordable. I remember doing my first custom PC back in 2008 and I opted to get two Nvidia GX2's and bridge them with Quad SLI. Those GPU's, at the time, were the 2nd best on the market (GTX480 was the best) and they ran $280.

Boy, those were the days. Now, $280 MIGHT get you a GPU that's three years old lol. (I'm exaggerating a little but you get the point)

Custom PC gaming isn't practical anymore. I've been pro-console ever since my PC shit the bed in 2012 (I think is when?) and I never looked back.

And the sad part about this whole GPU situation is that many of these bots who buy them are using them for crypto mining which is becoming borderline illegal now because of how much electric power they consume lol.

Anybody know if there's going to be a Limited Edition or such for Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2? I see the regular edition is up on RS for pre-ordering.

There will not be one. Standard edition only for season 2. Happens to most series from Funimation.

Making a PC is so out of reach for normal people. Shame to as I was wanting to build a better PC but like you said getting a GPU is just not an option anymore. Seems you have to buy prebuilt now which sucks.

Still rocking my RX 570 that I rarely use outside of maybe watching something from the UK on my pc lol

I am pretty content with just the new consoles for games but at least my potato is fine for random things.

All this crypto, scams, and stimulus fraud has affected everything. Can you even imagine how busy the feds are with this stuff right now?? Sports gambling is legal now too, oh good. Cuz that's exactly what we needed right now as a society. Policing resources are stretched so thin right now, and that's why you see so many people stealing. People are so short-sighted and stupid that half of them think all this product and goods inflation started happening just within the last year. When our chip manufacturing has been years behind and our reliance on Chinese manufacturing and rare materials has been decades in the making.

You're absolutely right about consoles too. I have built myself an expensive gaming rig; gotta have a working one at all times. But there is almost no game development with PC as the leading platform anymore these days anyways. The prospects of owning a gaming console is wayy better right now too. Publishers don't even jump into putting their AA goods into digital (Humble PC) bundles anymore either. I've spent nearly the last year and half gaming on my consoles exclusively. There has never been a better time to be a console gamer considering the value that they provide. Physical games on sale are significantly cheaper than attempting to maintain a modern digital library too. For everyone else, the Netflix of gaming (Gamepass) has finally fully arrived.

Actually that has done a complete 180 and GPUs are becoming available at several retailers now. They have to make room for the new Nvidia 4000 series coming soon. Plus crypto mining is getting banned in certain regions and it has been losing value.

My Microcenter has been lined with several glass cases of 3060 Ti's and 3070 Ti's for several weeks, and now suddenly this just happened and been available in stores for nearly one week. It doesn't help that they are still astronomically expensive compared to what they used to be...but the availability pendulum is really starting to swing in the other direction. There has never been a (moderately near-MSRP) 3080 listing constantly available to purchase like that before.

The thing that pisses me off the most about the stimulus payouts was that people, like Tom Brady, received almost one million dollars in COVID relief funds (PPP) for his performance nutrition company while an estimated 200,000 businesses had to shut down permanently due to COVID and not receiving relief funding.

As if Tom Brady who's worth an estimated $400 Million even needed the money to keep his niche business afloat.

What a racket and par the course for American politics.

Would be quite neat if a certain anime distributor based in Houston relicensed the series to celebrate their 30th anniversary this year.
