It's not "impossibly low" for that part of the city, which doesn't usually get a lot of traffic.

The overall message of this film reminds me of that brouhaha over Chinese athletes in America deciding to compete for China in the Olympics, because the characters in the film, especially Katy, became happier once they stopped rejecting, and started embracing, their status as Chinese.
I didn't think they were dialed down. I might bearing though.

Yeah the film message was a bit like that. It didn't feel like an American movie to be honest, and that is speaking as someone who consumes on heck of a lot of Chinese and HK cinema. Sure there is a lot of propaganda, but I guess looking the other way objectively they could see the same on a lot of western entertained (excluding all the growing self hate type...)... To be honest I find some of the national pride exhibited in movies somewhat refreshing, say in movies like Climbers, The Captain, or even some of the war / military ones where we are the baddies. It is nearly lost on us the concept of national pride in movies now...

But I do find the Olympics situation a bit troubling in that as far as I'm concerned, my loyalty has to belong to where I live as a citizen, not where I left, or my parents left. Or one or more of my grandparents. If I felt strong enough to represent China, I'd feel strong enough to move there, and pay taxes there, and be part of the community there. And by country I mean country. My land and people. Not the government. The Olympics situation is akin to say being on a scholarship at at LSU and training with their football team, but each weekend at game time you play for Alabama.

Standard is about 2000 yen. I got all 4 for 2400 yen shipped so it would be better to buy everything you want at one time.

I just popped 2000 yen into the currency converter and it said it was $15.63. Surely that can’t be right…? It was going for $80 shipped earlier, no?

Sorry, I thought you asked how much shipping was not the total shipped. The movies themselves are around $50.

Just ordered Shang-Chi, along with Black Widow, Eternals, and Ralph Breaks the Internet from Amazon JP. Came out to around $56 each including shipping. Looking forward to re-watching them in 3D.

Ordered Shang-Chi just now, $71 shipped. Cheaper than $80 plus tax on eBay!

Does Amazon Japan ever have Black Friday deals? There's no way in hell I am ever spending over $40 USD for a Disney/Marvel 3D disc to import just because their sorry @$$es won't release them in the US. Perhaps they'll decrease the price over time? I don't know how Amazon Japan does things.

I would love Shang-Chi, Black Widow & Immortals in 3D and I would never buy them on 2D disc either, but I ain't paying $70+ to import these movies. They aren't THAT good. Plus, they're converted 3D. Not even shot natively.

Also, Amazon Japan should combine shipping. I don't want to have to pay for shipping 3 times for them to just ship all three movies in one package.

I'm waiting to see if JPN gets No Way Home in 3D. Then I'll probably break down and get Eternals and Shang Chi too. I really disliked Eternals, but I am hoping maybe seeing it in 3D improves my opinion of it.

I have heard that No Way Home won't be getting a 3D release at all.

Immortals 3D got a US release but I'm guessing you are referring to Eternals 3D.

The whole native/ conversion thing is pretty moot now, those 3 movies all have excellent 3D, by modern standards.

Immortals/Eternals. Yeah! Either way, they're going to be around for a really long time.

I was told that Wreck it Ralph has never gone below ~$50 USD so I don't think they will ever have a big sale on these.

There was nothing that could be done to make me like Eternals. It goes down in my book as one of the worst movies I have ever seen in 3D. I sat through it somehow but never could have in 2D. On top of that, having to deal with the damn subtitles made it suck worse.

Old enough to remember when folks bought movies on disc because they had absolutely loved the movie. Good times

I simply can't stand going to a theater. People around my parts are rude and obnoxious. I'm not going to pay to watch a movie and put up with the cell phones, whining babies and rude talking people. Besides that I feel 3D movies are better on my on setup. I much prefer to watch it at home and will never watch a 3D movie in 2D. Unless it is a Marvel or DC then I will buy a 2D version to complete the series.
