I thought it was fantastic though and incredibly well directed. I do think the story had a really stupid major plot point that was never explained, the whole

. That made zero sense. Was just such a transparent and honestly unnecessary red herring that at the time the incidents started happening, I thought, ok, it is either

would be too unrealistic, unbelievable, and not really add anything positive to my appreciation of it. I'd still give it 9/10 though, as it was incredibly well done. I wish they'd just gone with the other option...

When they show you the 'how'. Before that it was ambigutous and I hadn't seen a single trailer so for me it could have been anything. Before the 'reveal' that section of the movie was most tense. When you are told the 'how', for me, it was like, 'oh, that's it?'. Like when a magicition shows you the trick the trick isn't special anymore.

Watched this last night as a cheap amazon rental with the wife, and really enjoyed it. Very well put together and an excellent performance from Elizabeth Moss. 4/5

Yeah as someone who's dealt with a lot, no... Even acrylic... Enamel, and he'd need turpentine...

Yeah, I didn't even bring that up as a friggin invisible suit is more of a reach them easy clean paint off... The fake death was just ludicrous though. I mean ffs they could have done it like they have other movies. Eg lost at sea, then 3 years later legally declared dead, she starts to relax, then whammo...

So what method of invisibility would have been more preferable? I thought it was pretty apparent the how from when they first said he was an optics genius in the tv obituary, before the Invisible Man actually started manifesting.

So when I didn't know what was happening or what the source of the danger was I was actually getting creeper out. Reminded me of an old movie called The Entity. After the reveal the creep factor is gone. Exactly the same with the Babadok.

Yeah I hear you. I had the same reaction to Sinister. I was getting chronically creeped out as I was thinking they must have had some aged serial killer who was able to sneak in and terrify them, but then when it turned supernatural, it kind of ruined it. And yes with Invisible, if you had no preconceptions based on the originals and book, your have thought ghost of dead husband.
