We're Sony's launch partner for the moist highly anticipated 2022 TVs.

Today we started shipping Sony's new 2022 75" and 85" X95K MiniLED TVs with Sony's Backlight Master Drive and the 2nd generation XR processor.

I kind of got angry at myself for watching that video lol. I kind of skipped around but I don’t believe he ever mentions how closely/accurately Samsung was tracking the colors and brightness curve. They definitely look different but it just seemed to me Samsung was pushing everything brighter like they usually do with their other TV models. And knowing Sony, the brightness was probably more accurate in that set.

A lot of superlatives and zero technical details. I am far more interested in grayscale and color DeltaE values and calibration abilities.

And stop using Samsung demos as 'proof' of anything. Reminds me of the cartoon demos flogged to show how LCDs are the 'best'.

You do realize you can’t show movies nor anything else copyrighted? So they can only show certain things without a violation.

The lack of Dolby Vision on the Samsung S95B QD Oled is what's holding me back from buying it even though the top YouTube influencers are going gaga over it.

Most of my 4K UHD discs have Dolby Vision / standard HDR rarely do I get a HDR10 / HDR10+ disc except when I receive a movie from overseas.

The Sony A95K QD Oled has Dolby Vision / HDR10 so I'm waiting for reviews on that one.

On a side note I suspect LG isn't too happy with these QD oleds, they're probably already planning something for next year.

If the top “influencers” are going crazy for it then that’s a definite sign to steer clear!

We'll be thoroughly testing and evaluating Samsung's S95B and later in May Sony's A95K QD OLED TVs. These are true and reliable 1st impressions from YouTube a/v speciality channel owners that agree on the new and stunning image quality, specifically in color saturation and peak luminance.

I can also tell you that myself and every video enthusiast and the every day TV shopper that have visited our showroom all love our Samsung S95B store demo TV. We'll soon know if it's just blown out and oversaturated by the presets and how accurate the EOTG PQ Curve and Color Gamut measure.

Sony have put up the Swedish prices for their TV line-up and WOW. The 65" X95K isn't far behind the same size A95K, and it's even closer in price to the 85" X90K.

I mean, I understand it, though. Mini LED backlight, Backlight Master Drive, a big increase in local dimming zones... that stuff doesn't come for free.

Is Samsung typically competitive (sales vs other brands) in the premium market? I assumed the bulk of their business was their midrange and budget units.

The 65 seems to be coming in at 3000 britpounds, slightly lower than I expected.

I would say they’re the brand with the most inaccurate picture renderings compared to other brands. At least with other brands you can calibrate them into something more accurate, but with most, if not all, Samsung TVs even a calibration will still leave you with higher inaccuracies compared to other brands. I expect these new QD-OLED models will be the same.

40,000 Swedish crowns, which equals around £3,230. So it's close.

I think I was expecting it to be lower, but I'm not shocked. Especially with inflation adding to it. Here all the 2022 models are a bit more expensive than their 2021 predecessors.

Called it.

Not that it would be surprising, though, given it’s Samsung. It is worth noting how Samsung is going out of their way to trick/lie to calibrators by ‘massaging’ the results when typical pattern windows are used. Kind of messed up.

Another reason to avoid Samsung even more.

Sony’s QD OLED should be better/more accurate hopefully.
