Fran also confirms Arrow has no plans for any Early Peter Jackson set. I know there was speculation about that at one point or another. He says it's more likely to come from a studio.

There's surely some other notable foreign studios I'm overlooking.
I think one foreign company it could be is Shochiku since they released a ton of their stuff in the UK, but nothing in the US. We'll see, but they do have a few good titles.

I'd love to see Blu-rays of THE X FROM OUTER SPACE and GOKE, BODY SNATCHER FROM HELL!

I'd love those, but think they are with Criterion.

I'm hoping for Village of Eight Gravestones which I think you would like.

Wasn't Happiness of the Katakuris licenced from Shochiku? Their logo appears on the back at least.

You're right. Forgot about that. Well, I guess that's not it then.

The franchise box set thing is probably fairly easy to narrow down. Phantasm? House? Hellraiser?

As for the studio they're working with in the US for the first time, well we've discussed that before. Here's who it can't be:

- Universal
- Sony
- MGM
- Warner Bros (when suggested, Fran noted they'd worked with WB in the US before, seemingly shooting down the prospect)
- StudioCanal (they haven't licenced any titles from them in the UK)
- Disney (as above; we've seen Fox titles in the UK, but surely they're in the same Disney boat for the US)
- Lakeshore
- Fortune Star
- Celestial/Shaw Bros
- Toei
- Toho
- Nikkatsu
- Kadokawa Daiei

As for who it could be:

- Lionsgate (if indeed Shivers and Rabid were licenced via Lionsgate for the UK)
- Paramount (we've seen a handful of Paramount titles licenced for the UK, so this would be some breakthrough. Didn't Arrow put out a release of "Shivers" on Blu-ray in the UK early in their life?

They did indeed, though I believe there's some dispute as to whether or not the Cronenberg releases were actually licenced from Lionsgate (their logo does appear on the packaging in any case).

If Arrow does a 4K UHD box set of both the Phantasm and Hellraiser series, I could die happy. Those would be my ultimate releases.

Would LOVE these. Got the bluray box on Hellraiser and the picture quality on Hellbound is not good. We need new 4K scans of the OCN.

I mean if Fran is hinting at a UHD box of Hellraiser, wouldn't that also make the new studio Paramount? Hellraiser 3 was licensed directly from Miramax for the blu but Paramount controls that stuff now.

Covered before why it's looking like an Empire Pictures box is in the works but Fran's comment about a major release/celebration for 2023 is just another log on the speculative fire IMO.

So....two Franchise boxsets of stuff that Arrow has already licensed and have yet to release. Initially the plan was for these forthcoming releases to be blu only but might now be UHD sets?

Hmm. Who knows. I suspect that they are probably asian films but that could be Japanese, Hong Kong/China or South Korea.

If Japanese, I guess The Grudge/Ju-on films would be good candidates.

Also, maybe Coffin Joe? I know the elements were supposed to be in questionable shape, but perhaps Arrow worked miracles?

Or the presumably UK only Blind Dead box for 2023 that was on the hint sheet.

Actually the solution might just be Coffin Joe and Blind Dead since we know they are both already in the works.

The Grefe set wasn't very great looking... still glad they released it though

Base.org leaked them!. Arrow are releasing Tenebrae 4K! Presumably just for the UK market, with Synapse releasing it here. The hint was for The Righteous. There will probably be some US exclusive stuff too.

Bless you MifuneFan for coming through yet again.
I kind of had a feeling the giallo boxset thing would end up just being a reissue. F U Arrow and your nonsense and for getting my hopes up.

I’d buy a Ju-On set in a heartbeat.
