I haven't watched regular tv/cable in over a year. I hated it when I was watching it, so I quit. Then I eventually removed the service from my Comcast bill. Now all I have are my 4k's, Blu-rays, DVDs, Vinyl, CDs, legitimate downloads I bought, and YouTube. I haven't looked back since. It's been a relief somewhat. It's isolating too in a way.

Planning my trip to Monterey/Pacific Grove/Carmel, the Monterey Bay Aquarium and 17 Mile Drive. Those spots make up my absolute favorite place on earth.

What day are you going? Hope you have a good time.

I was out in Saratoga on Monday and Los Gatos yesterday. Found some restaurants I'm going to have to check out.

Turned out to be a two-day trip, the drive tomorrow and back to the aquarium on Friday.

Sounds like a good time! I don't often get that far South but back in 2020, I did take a nice drive down to Big Sur. Big Sur was the destination but I kept going. I eventually saw a distance sign and Hearst Castle was only like 45 miles away I think. I couldn't believe that I got that close to it. I didn't turn around at the sign so I probably go within 30 miles of it. I've never been there before.

One of the many pics that I took that day. Hope you take and post some pics of your own

I take 4 weeks off during the year, two in April/May and two in October/November. Even the winter time I make it a point to visit as often as possible. Plus I also go on weekends throughout the year, time permitting.

We're so lucky to have the beauty that we have here in California. I don't have a car these days and when I did the trips back in 2020, I was using a rental. One drive that I really like and it's pretty easy is to go through Los Gatos to Saratoga and then up Big Basin Way to Skyline Blvd and from there, head north. You can either go all the way to 92 and use it to go to Half Moon Bay or you can take 84 and go through La Honda. I like to do that and come out in Pescadero and then cruise 1 up to San Francisco.
Do you have any fave spots here in SJ? I don't really but I also don't have a life
I do have to admit that I kind of like living downtown. I'm a few blocks from San Pedro Square but again, no life so I don't go out

Honestly, I would love to move downtown somewhere. I should absolutely take my trips north, as you now know, my favorite destination as south, although I do stay away from Santa Cruz and Capitola areas, too busy and too many tweaks here days. As for my favorite spot in SJ, The shark tank, of course. Yeah they really suck lately, but I have faith tha they'll right the ship again. Hopefully.

and some YouTube this morning before I deal with some long-procrastinated chores. I think I'm going to pull my bicycle out of storage and tune it up, bike infrastructure is nonexistent in this city and not sure how much I trust some of the drivers around here but I sure do miss riding it.

Doing my usual binge and puke at work. Too much music. OH well. You only live once. Unless you are Squirrelly McClaine

I've been to the Hearst castle. It was when me and my family were traveling by car from San Diego to San Francisco by way of the Pacific Coast Highway and Big Sir. I think there is a recording studio in that area as well. If I remember correctly that is where Tracy Chapman recorded her 2002 record. There is also a great burger joint we went to in Santa Barbara.

Just got back from the storage locker, two trips to Goodwill and a full load back here it's finally empty. My wife plans on listing some stuff on line but I have a feeling a lot of it will end up at the Goodwill here in town. Oh well either way that's still $500/mo saved on storage rent. Wish I had the energy and time to list stuff on FB marketplace or even sell at the local flea market. A lot of it is practically brand new kids stuff from when my daughter was living with me.

Getting home from a late lunch with my cousin. First time eating at The Breakfast Club in Midtown. Good food, great service. Parking can be a bit of a hassle from opening till 1PM. ***1/2 out of *****
Hey Civiclx, have you been there before?

It was nice out today so I got some stuff done outside.
I power sprayed the deck, then dug out the patio furniture and power sprayed that too. I’ll vacuum the cushions in a couple of days when it’s nice enough to sit out there.
I drilled then screwed my team signs on and like that a lot:
