It's kinda funny that the dated Jaws 2 transfer still looks better than Jurassic Park on UHD.

Wait, what?? Hahaha, is that true? I'm living in a 2K household and I have my copy from Universal's Blu-ray of Jaws 2, so you can believe that I'm asking sincerely.

It is for me.

Jaws 2 still looks like film. Park looks off.

Just wondering - if it’s due to the credits - shouldn’t the 4K at least look as good as the blu ray? Sounds like it it’s worse?

HDR and a higher resolution could exacerbate any issues with that sequence.

Scream said it isn't doing review copies of this one, which doesn't bode well in my eyes. Of course Sony did the transfer so they don't have a lot of incentive.

Jaws sequels are nothing more than Jawsploitation rip-offs like Orca (1977), Piranha (1978), and Grizzly (1976).

That transfer looks better than it has any right to. I'm still kinda floored by it.

We haven't had a surprise out of the blue announcement from Scream Factory for a long time, so it'd be great if they did something tomorrow, with it being the 13th. I'm not holding my breath though.

Some unexpected website exclusives would be nice.

That's probably a more realistic prospect, you might be onto something there.

100% agree. That said, I'd settle for an announcement that they'll be at Comic-Con in July with a slate of announcements for 2023.

I feel like their absence from Comic-con could signal another slower year for releases and so I'm very much hoping for a bit of that old return to form where they attend and announce 10 or so titles for the end of 2022 and throughout 2023.

I don't attend Comic-Con and likely never will, however it was always so much fun seeing the commotion here as those announcements came through that I'd love to see it make it's return.

I like and own Jaws 2, Orca, Piranha and Grizzly.
I double dipped on Orca + Piranha......and Triple dipped for Grizzly.

After two years of Covid curtailing this, I really hope it happens this year. I'm usually at the Con, but even days later when I come back here, this place is pretty nuts with all the announcements. Lets hope it happens.

More than anything, I feel like this year it would help to show that Scream Factory still has plenty of gas left in the tank and that they will continue to churn out titles for at least another 2 years beyond 4k upgrades of what they themselves have already has released.

Since the Friday the 13th set released I feel like we've been stuck in a bit of a start and stop pattern where the consistency of releases during years 2013-2019 just hasn't been there. Understandably, there was a period of time where business likely slowed to a crawl as far as being able to assemble special features and what not in 2020, but I feel like we should have more than pushed through that time now and should be back to a more steady release schedule.

I also recognize that recent production/shipping difficulties have impacted release dates and that (I Hope) is the reason for why July only had 1 new title announced. That all said, it's been this start/stop pattern and then the lack of plentiful announcements on a consistent basis that just sort of casts a shadow over how confident I am that Scream Factory has a full release slate planned for the foreseeable future.

Seeing Vinegar Syndrome consistently go to the well and crank out title after title over the last few years has shown that it's certainly feasible to do so and still remain profitable, and so at this point what I want most is just that reassurance that more (hopefully BIG) things are on the horizon. A return to Comic-con with 8-12 announcements in hand would help to do that in a big way for me.
