I think only one of them could be consider late 00's (Prince of Broadway (2008)). The other two are from 2000 (Four Letter Words) and 2004 (Take Out).

Guessing
[Show spoiler]American Factory
for the
[Show spoiler]documentary

If I had to guess the
[Show spoiler]French Classic
based on what has been released on BD elsewhere, and what Criterion hasn't released on DVD, I would go with
[Show spoiler]The Crime of Monsieur Lange
.

French classic we might have bought elsewhere? So something that was released recently? Sounds like a big title? Any ideas.

Hope the 70's western is Pat Garret and if it is, then man, August is already the best Criterion month of the year.

You'd think he'd be a little more enthused if it were Pat Garrett. We know Criterion has it, and it fits the clue, so it very well could be that.

Yeah, might be a different title then, unless they are simply not a fan of the film.

They’ve been rumored to have it for a while and they do seem to be big Hellman fans. The film definitely doesn’t have the rep of Pat Garrett so I could see people not being too excited for it. It excites me though because I haven’t seen it before and I love Hellman’s 70s period

Re: French title

For some reason Pepe le moko came to mind first, but more likely would be something like Boudu Saved from Drowning.

The one French film I want Criterion to release is Le Deuxieme Souffle. I was positive it had a French Blu-ray, but it doesn't which is quite odd. One of Melville's best films.

Their wording seems to imply it's a title that has been released internationally already. Pepe does have release from Spain, not sure if it's legit or not, but that's it.

It's actually an official release. Divisa is one of the few legit Spanish labels, and they did get it from StudioCanal. Unfortunately, it's a so-so master with forced Spanish subs.

It could be The Crimes of Monsieur Lange, which I absolutely would be quite happy about.

The French film I most want from Criteiron at this point is probably Fanfan la Tulipe.

You know what’s a late-00s indie? Inland Empire.

Good point, but anyone that would downplay a Lynch title is not to be trusted.

One of the indie movies could be Barry Jenkins' Medicine for Melancholy. It's from 2008, is Indie, and we know Criterion has it.

I did but haven’t watched it yet. It wouldn’t surprise if Criterion had it and then dropped it because of the lack of film elements.
