Preferably, battery glasses should be dropped and all 3D equipments be passive 3D, that way only the TV/projector should be the sole equipment to active display the 3D picture. Less garbage and less expenses is the best solution to those who want to watch 3D content.

For projectors to use polarized glasses, you still need to have a special, expensive silver screen installed. You also need a second projector and a polarization filter. The difficulty level goes up significantly. You could also do 2 projectors with Dooby-style color-filter glasses but that is also expensive. There’s no reason to do away with active glasses in projectors. It’s by far the lowest bar to entry for 3D on any device made after 2017. I definitely agree that if we could get new 3D TV’s, it would be great to standardize around polarized glasses (or autostereoscopic lightfield displays.)
