It's new and different for the franchise.

It sure as hell is scarier and fresher than a group of heavily armed macho men against a technologically advanced alien. It was great the first time, but after The Predator it was time to do something different.

The movie that ultimately came out is not the one Shane Black wrote and originally shot.

Studio execs got cold feet when fans reacted negatively () to seeing the out of context set pics of the desertor Predators and made Black eviscerate the story.

I do like the Apocalypto/Revenant meets Predator themes, though. I'm sure the Predator will lose the armor/weapons and cloaking when it comes to the hand to hand combat and whatnot.

There have been female Predators in the books and comics since 2000 but who wants to read. One of said female Predators is also in the current Predator video game so said incels will be wining about a thing that’s been around for a couple decades now.


After the last one I’m all for something different since Predator 2 hinted that at least film lore wise they’ve been to earth during the old west.

Yeah, I know about female Predators in the comics and novels. I didn't even think about it in terms of being in the film. If they go that route, it would be pretty awesome and quite unexpected.

I think we can thank Fox executives for that. THE PREDATOR felt like it was edited with a weed wacker. I don’t think it would have ever been “great” but literally nothing else Black has directed has been bad or close to being such a sloppy mess.
