Looks like this line is getting art cards. They are mentioned in all three listings, but so far are only pictured with the Extreme Prejudice release:

Hope they're going to release some British films, preferably from the 1960s. That's where it's at for me.

I got the US BD of Extreme Prejudice today and can confirm that the Walter Hill interview is the one on the French disc. It retains its French title (Extrême Préjudice revu par Walter Hill) and end credits--the interview is 99.9% Hill speaking and all in English--also closes with a text screen in English thanking Jean-Baptiste Thoret and mentioning the Make My Day! Collection of Blu-rays he curates for StudioCanal in France.

More packshots with the art cards and back covers. For some reason, the High Crime listing does not have the art cards packshot, but they are still mentioned on the page. Unfortunately, this is also further confirmation that High Crime does not include the longer version.

That's a shame: Blu-ray.com have it as 99 mins. "Blu-ray B France - Studio Canal - No cuts - English export version (93:15) with various trims, including five minutes of the climax changing the fate of certain characters. (dvdcompare.net) The German blu is: "Blu-ray ALL Limited Edition Germany - FilmArt - No cuts - includes the original version (103:13) and a version with an alternate ending (103:13)" ![]() |

Tempted to pre-order Extreme Prejudice, but kinda sucks they dropped the hour-long interview with Walter Hill (my guess is to save on BBFC fees, can't really think why else they'd ditch it). Surprised there are no reviews of these discs yet...kinda want to hear what the encode is like, SC are very hit-and-miss.
PS: Anyone happen to get Final Cut's release of Rolling Thunder recently? It's out on Monday, just wondered if it had any extras (I assume the master is the same as the old Optimum BD which I never got my hands on as a) it was always selling for ridiculous prices on eBay and b) I wasn't lucky enough to find it in Poundland like a few people did). |

Confirmed no interview then. Sorry SC - Vestron it is and at a fair price courtesy of one of the usual suspects on the bay. Guaranteed slipcover too. Though after all that I am in total agreement with Aclea and his post on the Vestron thread. Hill directing a Milius script starring some A-list B-list genre character actors and a Jerry Goldsmith score??!! Gold surely (if that’s your thing). And yet it isn’t. For me a classic case of the whole not equalling the sum. Disappointed the first time I saw it and rewatches haven’t changed that opinion. Still, didn’t stop me from buying the new Intrada score last year and now the blu. I’ve also got the Optimum dvd for good measure.

For anyone interested, I picked up the German filmArt BD of High Crime and watched the longer cut. The film is excellent, and I can't imagine watching the shorter version when seeing the film for the first time, as I did. Additionally, for those like me who loathe watching a movie where all or many are dubbed, there is a lot of evidence to support watching the film in English as opposed to Italian, because at least Franco Nero and James Whitmore have looped their own English dialogue and on top of that, virtually every major character is speaking lines in English, with the result that very few lines are spoken in Italian:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=351597 The UK BD will still be bought thanks to those extras and my own curiosity to see the shorter export cut, but it sounds like the longer version really is the one to watch. |

Yup, annoyingly I snagged a copy for a tenner on eBay the other day and then realised it was barebones. Oh well, wasn't prepared to pay more than twice that for the OOP Optimum release anyway!
Anyone found a review of the UK edition of Extreme Prejudice yet? |

Overall iam quite Happy with this Release,
It seems like a port of Vestron’s U.S Lionsgate Release from a month ago, It has the exact same Special Features minus the Walter Hill interview. Ive not watched it all but the (22min) Michael Ironside interview seems good. Anyway the Film Picture Quality on first glance isn't great, its an older HD Scan that looks slightly Colour faded, DNR has been used in some scenes not others, which is dissapointing, but once you get into the movie it looks Decent considering the History of this on home Video, a new Scan of the Original Neg would have been great, but overall it almost gets an 8/10 from me. (Update) After watching it Entirely, DNR has only been used modestly mostly in the opening 5-10 mins of the Film, overall it looks Great and Very Happy to finally own it on Bluray! Sound Strangely we get 2 options here, The Original Dolby Stereo track in PCM @ (2.3mbps) higher than the u.s release, Sounds great, Clear, Detailed and Dynamic. Jerry Goldsmith opening Score on the main titles sounds like i remember it, Maybe only lacking a little in the Bass range but iam Happy. Dialogue is spot on, Gunshots Sound proper good, Very Dynamic even just at a nice Listening Level. This Track is a 9/10 all day. Wierdly we also get a DTS Master 5.1 Lossless also that other Releases of this didnt, it Sounds very close to the Stereo but with it coming across with more Bass than the Original Stereo but think i just like the 2.0 better. The pair of Commentaries that are on the Disc & the Stills Track that is on 9 mins+ inc Music Score are all in Lossless but on the u.s Vestron Disc going by the Bluray disc scan from the u.s thread they are only 192kb Dolby Digital. Very Strange as this looks 99% the Vestron Release. Overall a great Catalogue Release that should have had a new Print but hey, Iam just glad we get this at all on Bluray in the UK, with Carolco sadly being no more. A Definite pick up 8/10 Last edited by MR THX; 06-02-2022 at 04:14 PM. |

I got the Vestron release last week and the Hill interview is very good such a shame SC forgot to include it on the UK release.
I agree with the thoughts on the PQ I thought it was decent put disappointing it struggles with the darker scenes and could really do with a new 4K scan. Carolco Films normally always look great in HD so its a shame SC gives Cat's Eye and Red Sonja 4ks but dumps Extreme Prejudice onto blu ray with an old transfer. |
