I think it was from an interview with Sammon. Maybe Dally knows the source.

Correct, Herb. Something to do with the branching meant they couldn't use his commentaries for the archival versions, so he was asked to record yet another commentary for the workprint instead.

Hey, real quick: Does the Workprint have all the violence cut from U.S. theatrical prints of the film or is it still missing some (I feel like the Workprint is missing the nail through the hand and a few frames from the eye-gouging)? I'm about to re-watch BL again but I can't decide between Workprint or International this time around and can't recall if the latter is the only one with all the violence put back in (Final Cut aside).

Disappointing part for me is that he was still making good music. Blade Runner isn't even one of my favorites of his body of work.

He was an absolute mountain in music and sorely misunderstood by so many who think he was Blade Runner, Chariots of Fire etc. He reshaped future music for a long, long time and influenced every kid who stood at their keyboard, even if they did not know it at the time.

I think "Tears in Rain" is one of the most beautifully captured moments of cinema, and easily one of Ridley Scott's peaks (one of many), but "Memories of Green" as the musical texture for Rachael's discovery of the photograph in Deckard's apartment absolutely guts me. Sean Young's face coupled with Vangelis's almost impossibly perfect mix of nostalgia and melancholia...

So thankful to always have these moments preserved so gorgeously, and not, in fact, lost to the rain.
